The Barnstable Selects SurePower Innovation(R) Modern Enterprise Suite

Cloud Deployment Will Improve Risk Management and Enhance Customer Experience for This Mutual Insurance Company's Affluent Policyholders

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - July 23, 2014) - The Barnstable County Mutual Insurance Company (The Barnstable), a Massachusetts-based insurance solution provider, recently selected ISCS's modular, configurable, modern enterprise suite, SurePower Innovation®, as the foundation of a full suite legacy replacement project.

The 181-year-old company is a mutual insurer specializing in coastal homeowners, renters and personal liability insurance products distributed through a network of independent agents. SurePower Innovation was selected for this legacy modernization project not only due to technology compatibility, but also for the benefits ISCS's SurePackage™ cloud deployment option will offer The Barnstable.

"We are looking forward to significantly increasing the level of automation within our core administration processes," said John L. DeMello, president of The Barnstable. "More modern workflows and processing functionality will offer The Barnstable's agents a higher level of efficiency, productivity and communication, plus better customer service and strategic support for future business expansion and growth."

ISCS's SurePower Innovation will provide a flexible platform from which The Barnstable will be able to automate policy, billing and claims administration, as well as other critical areas such as quoting/rating, underwriting, reinsurance and producer/commission management. Utilizing ISCS's complete managed SaaS solution, SurePackage, will further ensure an efficient, effective deployment by enhancing availability and providing redundancy through the implementation process, and beyond. The combination of SurePackage and SurePower Innovation will improve The Barnstable's risk management capabilities many-fold.

"The insurance industry is just beginning to truly realize the benefits that cloud deployments can have for companies of all sizes," said Andy Scurto, president of ISCS. "We made a commitment several years ago to offer a complete managed SaaS solution, seeing the competitive advantage that a cloud-based system could offer our clients. We are very pleased to be a part of The Barnstable's forward-looking technology plans and the growth that is sure to follow."

About The Barnstable County Mutual Insurance Company (The Barnstable)
In 1833, a group of Cape Codders organized Barnstable County Mutual Fire Insurance Company to provide residents of Cape Cod with fire insurance. In 1994, the word "Fire" was removed from the name to reflect the fact the Company offered more than just fire insurance. The Barnstable is a Mutual Insurance Company, owned by its policyholders. The directors are the elected representatives of the policyholders and play a key role in the Company's affairs, as trustees for the other policyholders, and as the Company's representatives in their communities. The directors elect company management. Today, the Barnstable sells homeowners, renters and personal liability insurance exclusively through twenty-six independent agents on Cape Cod and the South Coast of Massachusetts. The Company has approximately 23,000 policies in force as of the most recent annual report and maintains an A.M.Best rating of A (Excellent) for its strong financial position.
