Tripwire Announces Tripwire Log Center 7.1 with New and Updated Compliance Solution Packs

Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of advanced threat, security and compliance solutions, today announced the release of Tripwire® Log Center® 7.1, which includes new and updated solution packs for key compliance initiatives. These initiatives include the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version 3.0, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity framework 800-53 as well as the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) version 5.

Achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance can require both a great deal of time and significant resources, especially in dynamic enterprise networks. Tripwire Log Center 7.1 automates the process with out-of-the-box solution packs designed to decrease the costs and resources required to achieve a high level of compliance and maintain it over time. Tripwire Log Center 7.1 makes it possible to continuously monitor compliance over time, reducing security risks and costs.

“Tripwire Log Center provides ease of use and fast deployment in addition to advance log intelligence,” said Ken Westin, product marketing manager and security researcher at Tripwire. “Our cyberthreat and compliance solution packs provide customers with the tools they need to get results ready-made as well as the flexibility necessary to easily customize the solution for their specific needs.”

PCI Solution Pack

The updated Tripwire Log Center PCI Solution Pack helps organizations that are involved in handling electronic payments to demonstrate compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version 3. With Tripwire Log Center and the PCI Solution Pack, organizations can easily:

  • Monitor user activity on PCI-relevant assets.
  • Detect violations of supported PCI requirements.
  • Correlate events of interest that are related to PCI.
  • Generate reports and share analysis of PCI violations.
  • Respond quickly to violations.

NIST 800-53 Solution Pack

The Tripwire Log Center NIST 800-53 Solution Pack helps organizations demonstrate compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53. By simply importing the NIST 800-53 Solution Pack into Tripwire Log Center, organizations can use specific NIST correlation rules to demonstrate compliance.

NERC CIP Solution Pack

The Tripwire Log Center NERC CIP Solution Pack allows energy organizations to show compliance with NERC CIP version 5, standards for physical and logical security systems involved in the management of cyber assets in the bulk electric system (BES). With Tripwire Log Center and the NERC CIP Solution Pack, energy organizations can:

  • Monitor user activity on BES Cyber Assets.
  • Detect violations of supported NERC CIP requirements.
  • Correlate events of interest that are related to NERC CIP.
  • Generate reports to share and assist with analysis of violations.
  • Quickly respond and remediate violations with appropriate measures.

Some developers believe that monitoring is a function of the operations team. Some operations teams firmly believe that monitoring the systems they maintain is sufficient to run the business successfully. Most of them are wrong. The complexity of today's applications have gone far and beyond the capabilities of "traditional" system-level monitoring tools and approaches and requires much broader knowledge of business and applications as a whole. The goal of DevOps is to connect all aspects of app...
DevOps is the hottest moving target when it comes to software development methodologies. Many people fear that this fast-paced, barrier-breaking movement will leave information security best practices in the dust. Analysts provide recommendations to security professionals using bingo-laden terms like "moving security to the left" or "get a seat at the table." What we need are real-world examples and tactics for security practitioners to be part of DevOps. In his session at DevOps Summit, Andrew...
Every day we read jaw-dropping stats on the explosion of data. We allocate significant resources to harness and better understand it. We build businesses around it. But we’ve only just begun. For big payoffs in Big Data, CIOs are turning to cognitive computing. Cognitive computing’s ability to securely extract insights, understand natural language, and get smarter each time it’s used is the next, logical step for Big Data.
DevOps is all about agility. However, you don't want to be on a high-speed bus to nowhere. The right DevOps approach controls velocity with a tight feedback loop that not only consists of operational data but also incorporates business context. With a business context in the decision making, the right business priorities are incorporated, which results in a higher value creation. In his session at DevOps Summit, Todd Rader, Solutions Architect at AppDynamics, discussed key monitoring techniques...
The Internet of Things will greatly expand the opportunities for data collection and new business models driven off of that data. In her session at @ThingsExpo, Esmeralda Swartz, CMO of MetraTech, discussed how for this to be effective you not only need to have infrastructure and operational models capable of utilizing this new phenomenon, but increasingly service providers will need to convince a skeptical public to participate. Get ready to show them the money!
Want to enable self-service provisioning of application environments in minutes that mirror production? Can you automatically provide rich data with code-level detail back to the developers when issues occur in production? In his session at DevOps Summit, David Tesar, Microsoft Technical Evangelist on Microsoft Azure and DevOps, will discuss how to accomplish this and more utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Visual Studio online, and Application Insights in this demo-heavy session.

Over the years, a variety of methodologies have emerged in order to overcome the challenges related to project constraints. The successful use of each methodology seems highly context-dependent. However, communication seems to be the common denominator of the many challenges that project management methodologies intend to resolve. In this respect, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can be viewed as powerful tools for managing projects. Few research papers have focused on the way...
As the world moves from DevOps to NoOps, application deployment to the cloud ought to become a lot simpler. However, applications have been architected with a much tighter coupling than it needs to be which makes deployment in different environments and migration between them harder. The microservices architecture, which is the basis of many new age distributed systems such as OpenStack, Netflix and so on is at the heart of CloudFoundry – a complete developer-oriented Platform as a Service (PaaS...
In high-production environments where release cycles are measured in hours or minutes — not days or weeks — there's little room for mistakes and no room for confusion. Everyone has to understand what's happening, in real time, and have the means to do whatever is necessary to keep applications up and running optimally. DevOps is a high-stakes world, but done well, it delivers the agility and performance to significantly impact business competitiveness.
