SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/28/14 -- In this GDSII tapeout webinar, participants will witness an actual tapeout quote being generated based on real-time input from Bob Dunnigan, vice president of operations at Ikanos, an eSilicon customer. SemiWiki's Daniel Nenni will moderate the event and provide his perspective regarding the impact of Internet commerce on the semiconductor industry.
Demonstrating the GDSII quoting tool, eSilicon will take users through all the steps required to generate a complete, executable quotation that addresses tapeout costs, optional services and volume production pricing for a new chip design. The process, from start to generated quote, is typically completed in less than 10 minutes.
Participants will also learn how to implement various design options in the quoting tool and see how various trade-offs impact the final quotation.
When: Thursday, July 31, 2014, 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time

Database apps on mobile devices shouldn't stop working when there's limited or no network connectivity. In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, Bradley Holt, a Developer Advocate for IBM Cloudant, will discuss how to bring data stored in a cloud database to the edge of the network (and back again), whenever an Internet connection is available. He will demonstrate techniques for replicating cloud databases with mobile devices in order to build offline-enabled mobile apps that can provide a better,...
