Mendota Heights Estate to Sell at J. P. King Real Estate Auction on August 26

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (Marketwired) -- 08/08/14 -- A six-bedroom estate in the heart of the affluent Mendota Heights, Minnesota, will sell at a live real estate auction through J. P. King Auction Company. The estate, known as Three Meadows, was originally listed at $7.9 million, but it will sell to the highest bidder at or above $2.5 million on August 26.

With over 12,000 square feet of space to live and entertain, Three Meadows was built by Richard and Jamie Chapman and has served as their family home. It features six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, spread across five acres of meadow and wooded views. The main floor contains the formal living and dining areas, along with a kitchen that serves as the hub of the home. With a walk-in pantry and a professional appliance package, it also has access to the two-story, three-car garage and a butler's pantry that leads to the dining room.

"First of all, I would describe this as a warm, inviting and friendly home, despite its grandeur," said Barry Berg, Minnesota's top-selling Realtor -- Coldwell Banker Burnet's Barry Berg Group is working in conjunction with J. P. King on the sale. "But one of the things that stands out the most to me is that it's a newer home with the type of character and quality that you just rarely find in modern homes today."

The master suite features a beverage center and a decorated, two-sided fireplace to heat both the bedroom and the separate bathing area, which includes heated floors, a clawfoot tub and a Roman shower room. A dressing room, his-and-hers walk-in closets and a lounge with French doors that open to a private terrace finish out the suite.

While the second floor contains four of the remaining bedrooms and a private bonus room, the lower level is where the Chapmans spend the most time. With a list of rooms that include a library, family room, theater room, wine tasting room, wine cellar, exercise room, billiards room, gymnasium and a second kitchen, it also transforms into a swimmers' lounge with the sliding glass doors. The outdoor space is anchored by a heated pool with a water feature and color fiber lights, with a sun deck and a paver brick patio surrounding. In the park-like landscaping, an outdoor dining area and fire pit continue the entertaining opportunities.

"The is not one of, but the prime lot in Mendota Heights," Berg said. "It's at the end of a beautiful, long street on five acres, and it's an absolutely exquisite piece of property with a lot of wonderful family living spaces."

The Three Meadows auction closely follows J. P. King's sale of Brentwood Estates, a 30-acre property in Garfield, Minnesota. Sitting on the Big Chippewa Lake, it brought the county's highest sales price in over a decade.

The auction for Three Meadows will take place on Tuesday, August 26 at 11 a.m. at the property, which is located at 614 Hidden Creek Trail in Mendota Heights. Property tours will be available from August 13 through auction day, by appointment. For additional information or to schedule a tour, individuals may contact J. P.
