GODERICH, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/08/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage
The Government of Canada has provided the Goderich Celtic Folk Society with $60,000 over two years through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, in support of the 2014 and 2015 editions of the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival.
Ben Lobb, Member of Parliament (Huron-Bruce), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
-- The Goderich Celtic Roots Festival is an outdoor, family-friendly event in the Town of Goderich, Ontario. -- The theme of this year's Festival, taking place from August 8 to 10, is "The Harp and the Fleur-de-Lis," exploring the Irish-French cultural connection. -- The Festival showcases authentic Celtic music and dance, with performers coming from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Quebec, the U.S. and Nova Scotia.
