The Internet of Things promises to transform businesses (and lives), but navigating the business and technical path to success can be difficult to understand.
In his session at the upcoming Internet of @ThingsExpo in Santa Clara, California, Chad Jones, Vice President, Product Strategy of LogMeIn's Xively IoT Platform, will show you how to approach creating broadly successful connected customer solutions using real world business transformation studies including New England BioLabs and more.
Chad Jones has eighteen years' experience driving strategic initiatives in IoT, cloud, virtualization and infrastructure while evangelizing the vision of a better world through technology. At LogMeIn, he drives product and go-to-market strategy for the company's Xively IoT platform as well as evangelizes the company's vision for the Internet of Things.
Prior to LogMeIn, he served as VP, Strategy and PM for DynamicOps (cloud automation software) acquired by VMware in 2012. Before DynamicOps, he was VP, Product Management with Neocleus (client hypervisor) acquired by Intel. Chad was a creator of SoftGrid (app virtualization) from Softricity, acquired by Microsoft, which grew to revenues topping $4.2B.

"The Internet of Things is irrelevant," said Chad Jones (pictured below) during his presentation at the recent @ThingsExpo in New York.
Now that he has your attention, perhaps I should add some context to this quote. Chad, who is VP of IoT Strategy at Boston-based LogMeIn was making the point that the IoT is irrelevant in and of itself: "The IoT is about transforming businesses and lives," he noted. "Just connecting things on the Internet is not enough."
LogMeIn was founded in 2003 with a mission to provide renote access and control, file sharing, systems management, data backup, business collaboration, and on-demand customer support of all the computers and devices found on the Internet and IoT.

Chris Matthieu Named Internet of @ThingsExpo Tech Chair
Internet of @ThingsExpo has announced today that Chris Matthieu has been named tech chair of Internet of @ThingsExpo 2014 Silicon Valley.
The 2nd Global Internet of @ThingsExpo will take place on November 4-6, 2014, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
Chris Matthieu has two decades of telecom and web experience. He launched his Teleku cloud communications-as-a-service platform at eComm in 2010, which was acquired by Voxeo. Next he built an open source Node.JS PaaS called Nodester, which was acquired by AppFog. His new startup is Twelephone (http://twelephone.com). Leveraging HTML5 and WebRTC, Twelephone's BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is to become the next generation telecom company running in the Web browser.
