Violin Memory Receives 2014 Best of Show at Flash Memory Summit for Most Innovative Customer Implementation

The award recognized Violin for its implementation of its Windows Flash Array (WFA) in a Hyper-V virtualized environment utilizing a Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 implementation for The Australia Department of Defense Central Operations Center in Canberra, Australia. The award winners are determined by a distinguished panel of judges at the Flash Memory Summit.

The Australia Department of Defense Central Operations Center has a mission critical application involving the gathering of data from more than 100,000 users and 450 sites. This application needed to read and consolidate the data collected and process it real-time in a demanding time window of five minutes. This involved ingesting operational data for processing where high performance and high IOPS is key.
