North 6th Agency Named PR Agency Of Record For Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation

Non-profit organization founded by Super Bowl winning NFL coach engages with N6A to increase media exposure and spread word on mission in New York Metro market, as well as on national scale.

NEW YORK, Aug. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- North 6th Agency (N6A), an award-winning communications agency based in New York City, today announced that it has been retained by the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation (TC Jay Fund) as its PR Agency of Record (AOR) in the New York Metro market.

With several events and initiatives planned over the coming months, including its signature "Champions for Children" gala on October 17th, N6A will provide the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund with media relations services, writing and editorial support, and overall PR strategy and counsel on an ongoing basis.

"When we first met the Jay Fund team we were immediately inspired and moved by their mission to change the lives of the millions of families whom are impacted by childhood cancer on a daily basis," said Matt Rizzetta, President and CEO of N6A. "We're excited to tell their story and the inspiring values that the organization stands for to the media in the New York Metro region, as well as on a national level."

The mission of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund is to help families tackle childhood cancer by providing comprehensive financial, emotional and practical support. From diagnosis to recovery and beyond, the Jay Fund is part of the team, allowing parents to solely focus on their child's well being.

"We've worked incredibly hard over the past two decades to change the lives of families whom are dealing with childhood cancers and related illnesses," said Keli Coughlin, Executive Director of the Jay Fund. "Until now, the mission of the Jay Fund has been well documented in the Jacksonville and Northeast Florida area, yet we have just begun to scratch the surface in the New York Metro region. We're thrilled to be partnering with N6A as the caretakers of our mission, values and public image in New York Metro and nationally."

The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation was created in 1996 in honor of Jay McGillis. Jay was a special young man who developed leukemia while a member of Coach Coughlin's team at Boston College. In the eight months between Jay's diagnosis and the day he lost his battle with cancer, the Coughlin family saw first-hand the physical, emotional and financial strains the illness caused the McGillis family. After going through the tragic events with Jay's family, Coach Coughlin vowed that if he ever had the chance, he would create a way to help families with children battling cancer.
