Swisslog Introduces Network Operations Center for Automated Material Transport System Monitoring

The industry's first remote monitoring and technical support center provides 24/7/365 management for TransLogic® Pneumatic Tube Systems.

DENVER, Aug. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Swisslog Healthcare Solutions, the market-leader for hospital pneumatic tube systems, announces the opening of its Network Operations Center (NOC) for TransLogic® Pneumatic Tube Systems (PTS). The NOC is part of the advanced customer service capability available only from Swisslog and features real-time technical support 24/7/365 to ensure maximum system uptime.

The NOC provides immediate response and resolution to alarms through remote system monitoring; returning the system to normal operations and minimizing the impact on facility support personnel. The Swisslog NOC technical support team provides escalation to a facilityʼs first responders within minutes where intervention is required. In addition, facilities will receive monthly reports on system uptime, alarms, response times and corrective actions to support high performance and active system management.

"The Network Operations Center is the first of its kind in terms of continuous remote monitoring and technical support capability for the hospital material transport industry," said Swisslog Customer Care Director Hilton Campbell. "The NOC represents one component of more comprehensive and integrated customer service options from Swisslog."

Designed to handle automated material transport in hospitals, the TransLogic PTS delivers patient-critical items quickly and reliably to reduce wait times and manual labor. Through  scalable support options, Swisslog offers an a la carte menu of services to its more than 2,300 North American PTS customers. Swisslog is able to  provide everything from replacement parts to technical support, including continuous call center service and a full-service preventive maintenance program, offering service programs custom-tailored to meet the unique requirements and budget of any facility.

In the future, Swisslog has plans to add remote system monitoring capabilities for other products within its automated material transport portfolio, including the RoboCourier® Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) and TransCar® Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). The RoboCourier AMR transports medium-sized payloads including lab specimens, medications and hospital supplies, enabling staff to remain focused on patient-related tasks. The TransCar AGV is a low-maintenance solution for efficiently transporting material such as:  medication, linens, meals and waste on carts.

"Our team of  PTS  field technicians is the best in the business," said Eric Waski, director of field service operations. "The customer care and field teams are ramping up for these new service options and look forward to the opportunities ahead."
