Cloud Expo's giant Silicon View billboard which is viewed by more than 1.3 million motorists per week.
Cloud Expo has announced its first annual "Iron Cloud IoT Shootout" to be held on November 6, 2014, at Cloud Expo Silicon Valley at Santa Clara Convention Center in California.
The "Iron Cloud IoT Shootout" will be a live competition among all the key Cloud Computing platforms, and will be held on Day 3 of the show, Thursday, November 6, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
So far five platforms - Amazon AWS, Google GCE, Microsoft Azure, IBM SoftLayer, and Rackspace - have been named as part of the live competition.
The "Iron Cloud IoT Shootout" will feature teams representing each platform. Team members may or may not be employees of the companies that represent the competing platforms. Each team will create an IoT app or service and be judged by everyone in attendance.
The specific time, location, and detailed rules of the live competition will be announced soon.
Join us in Santa Clara, and join us on Day 3 to be part of the Iron Cloud IoT Shootout. Your vote will make a difference!

Cloud 360: Multi-Cloud Bootcamp, being held Nov 4-5, 2014, in conjunction with 15th Cloud Expo in Santa Clara, CA, delivers a real-world demonstration of how to deploy and configure a scalable and available web application on all three platforms. The Cloud 360 Bootcamp, led by Janakiram MSV, an analyst with Gigaom Research, is the first bootcamp that introduces the core concepts of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) based on the workings of the Big Three platforms - Amazon EC2, Google Compute Engine, and Azure VMs.
The Cloud360 Workshop, a two-day, interactive experience of dealing with the popular cloud platforms, will provide a big picture of cloud computing followed by a deep-dive into Amazon EC2, Microsoft Azure VMs and Google Compute Engine. Based on a real-world scenario, the workshop walks you through deploying a scalable web application on AWS, Azure and the Google Cloud Platform. Attendees will not only get a clear understanding of IaaS but also the strengths and weaknesses of each cloud platform.
