Altierre Corp., a provider of ultra-low power long-range wireless technology for the Internet of Things and innovative applications that are transforming retail in over 1,000 cities, today announced the opening of its France sales office, and key hires in the U.S. and Europe to lead an aggressive expansion of its global sales effort. Retail sales veteran Tom Solomon joins the company as Vice President of U.S. Sales. Former Pricer and Apple sales veteran Jean Michel Luquot joins Altierre as Vice President of Sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), leading Altierre’s new international sales office in Paris, France.
“With our recently completed financing, the opening of our France office and the addition of these established leaders, both of whom bring strong experience selling in this arena, we have strong momentum to now drive sales to the next level here and abroad. We are full steam ahead to deliver on our strategy and promise to be a global leader in retail technology,” said Altierre Chairman and CEO Sunit Saxena.
Solomon brings extensive retail expertise with 20 years’ experience leading sales and account management teams in high growth industries. Most recently he served as Vice President, Sales/Grocery and Business Development for InComm, a leading provider of prepaid products, services and transaction technologies that supports more than 400,000 points of distribution and helps retailers build prepaid card destinations. Tom led both the grocery channel and retail business development. Solomon earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Indiana University.
“Tom has an impressive track record in building relationships with retailers in multiple verticals across the country and delivering innovative programs to give them a competitive edge. He is a perfect fit to lead our U.S. sales effort at this important phase in our growth,” said Saxena.
Luquot has over 25 years’ experience in sales and marketing of B2B technology solutions for retailers. He was most recently Director of Sales for Europe and Large Accounts Director at Pricer in Europe, where he led sales management for France, Belgium, Spain and Italy and managed key retail accounts worldwide. Previously he worked in several sales and marketing positions at Apple, beginning with launching the Macintosh personal computer in the French market and ultimately serving as Large Accounts Director with responsibility for key retail accounts. Luquot graduated as an Engineer, and has an MBA from INSEAD.
In his new role, Luquot will lead Altierre’s first international sales office based in Paris, and will oversee sales and customer support in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He will be fully responsible for servicing Altierre’s growing list of customers in these regions.
Altierre also has hired Olivier Caudroy as Technical Sales Director for EMEA. Olivier was recently National Technical Director for Digi Teraoka group in France. He has over 20 years’ experience in providing technical support for retail software and hardware deployments. He has an engineering degree from L'ESIEE Amiens.
“With their combined wealth of experience in retail, sales and technology, Jean Michel and Olivier are well suited to deliver Altierre’s solutions to global markets and help retailers around the world leverage the Internet of Things and bring new levels of efficiencies to their stores,” added Saxena.
Altierre unlocks the promise of Big Data and the Internet of Things with its revolutionary wireless technology that enables devices to exchange data and instructions bi-directionally in a low cost, low energy, highly scalable network. Altierre’s proprietary networking and technology solutions enable retailers to leverage digital innovations that deliver significant cost savings and revenue opportunities including dynamic promotional pricing, shelf sensors that monitor inventory and temperature fluctuations, and point-of-decision customer mobile communications.
Millions of Altierre’s digital signs are currently installed and operating nationwide in retail stores in over 1,000 U.S. cities as well as several hypermarket stores across France operated by E.Leclerc, one of Europe’s leading retail chains.
Altierre Corp. is a leader in proven technology that delivers the promise of the Internet of Things. Altierre’s thin infrastructure, bi-directional, ultra-low power wireless solutions are already transforming the $12 trillion retail industry with a turnkey platform that allows millions of multi-year battery life wireless devices to seamlessly and securely communicate in large retail stores at the shelf edge or mobile racks, creating numerous, real time touch points with consumers, products and store associates, thus enabling an array of innovative applications. The new era of RF-based applications developed by Altierre offers retail chains unparalleled benefits, from realizing billions of dollars in cost savings and revenue opportunities to enhancing productivity, merchandising and the consumer shopping experience.
