HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 08/19/14 -- GeoMet, Inc. (OTCQB: GMET) (NASDAQ: GMETP) (the "Company") announced today that it has established the close of business on August 21, 2014 as the record date (the "Record Date") for a special meeting of stockholders to consider and vote on proposals that would (i) amend the Company's Amended and Restated Certificate of Incorporation to remove the prohibition restricting stockholders from acting by written consent (the "Charter Amendment") and (ii) adopt resolutions to ratify the Certificate of Amendment to the Certificate of Designations of Series A Convertible Redeemable Preferred Stock of the Company that was filed with the Secretary of State of the State of Delaware on December 21, 2010 (together with the Charter Amendment, the "Proposals").
Only stockholders of record on the Record Date will be entitled to notice of, and to vote at, the special meeting. The Company expects to hold the special meeting on September 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., Houston time, in the San Jacinto Room at 2 Houston Center, located at 909 Fannin St., Level P2, Houston, Texas 77010.
