Arizona Science Center Member Jason Hope Inspires People to Learn About Science

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 08/21/14 -- Last Friday the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix, Arizona, opened its doors from 6 to 8 p.m. to interested visitors aged 18 or older to marvel at "Art 360," a 360-degree art exhibition presented in the dome of Dorrance Planetarium. The event was part of the Adults' Night Out series, organized by the Arizona Science Center. Visitors could explore all four floors of the center, gaze at artwork by local and national artists, including Julia Jones, Katie Davison and the ASU Visualization Prototyping Class. The IMAX theater showed the center's latest movie "Engineering in Space Exploration," while a DJ played energetic music in the cash bar, creating a great atmosphere to unwind, socialize and simultaneously be inspired by the scientific environment.

But the Arizona Science Center is by no means a place for grown-ups only. Ever year, the center hosts a number of travelling shows that are educational and entertaining for the entire family. The current exhibit "Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science," which will be on display until September 1, is especially intriguing. Upon entering the exhibition halls, visitors find themselves in modern Egyptian streets, leading them around the corner to a life-sized camel statue. While kids can engage in hands-on activities like building a 3-D pyramid puzzle, grown-ups can stroll through the show and check out amazing artifacts from ancient Egypt. "The Arizona Science Center always has a ton of great stuff going on for both kids and adults! As a member of The Director's Circle, I'm happy to support the Center's mission to educate, inspire and entertain people about science," says Jason Hope, an internationally acclaimed entrepreneur who is based in Arizona and has supported the center for many years.

Inspiring, educating and entertaining people of all ages about science is the declared mission of the Arizona Science Center. Founded in 1980, the center has developed into a leading learning facility for children and adults alike. Supported by the community of Arizona, it now welcomes more than half a million guests every year. Generous donations enable the center to organize outreach programs, field trips, camps and much more. One of the most generous supporters is Jason Hope, who was invited to join the Director's Circle, a special organization of individuals dedicated to supporting the center's educational programs, at the Scientist level, the highest level of membership. "The Arizona Science Center is a tremendous educational tool for students state-wide. It's so important that we encourage Arizona's kids to be excited about learning, discovering and creating; the Science Center's programs do just that. I'm honored to be giving back to the community by supporting such a fantastic organization," said Hope.

Jason Hope is an entrepreneur, investor and science fan that has focused his philanthropic efforts on the fields of education, scientific research, disease cure and biotechnology in recent years. Born and raised in Tempe, Arizona, Hope is especially proud that his home state contributes to the scientific development of children of all ages through many inspirational programs spearheaded by the Arizona Science Center. Hope lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, from where he runs his multiple businesses and charitable organizations.

The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...
Fundamentally, SDN is still mostly about network plumbing. While plumbing may be useful to tinker with, what you can do with your plumbing is far more intriguing. A rigid interpretation of SDN confines it to Layers 2 and 3, and that's reasonable. But SDN opens opportunities for novel constructions in Layers 4 to 7 that solve real operational problems in data centers. "Data center," in fact, might become anachronistic - data is everywhere, constantly on the move, seemingly always overflowing. Net...

How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...

DevOps is all about agility. However, you don't want to be on a high-speed bus to nowhere. The right DevOps approach controls velocity with a tight feedback loop that not only consists of operational data but also incorporates business context. In his session at DevOps Summit, Todd Rader, Solutions Architect at AppDynamics, discussed key monitoring techniques...
