Redfin Rolling out Matterport 3D Technology to Its Agent-Listed Homes across the Country

Redfin, the customer-first real estate brokerage, today announced Redfin 3D Walkthrough™, a new feature that lets homebuyers tour Redfin-listed homes for sale online by viewing a high-resolution view from any angle inside the home. This immersive experience, powered by 3D technology from Matterport, helps homebuyers better decide which homes to tour in person and is available on www.redfin.com today for Redfin-listed homes in Seattle, including this one. This feature will be expanded to other Redfin agent listings across the country in the coming months.

“Whatever you think a virtual tour experience might be like think again," said Sasha Aickin, chief technology officer at Redfin. "Using Matterport's technology, Redfin 3D Walkthrough gives homebuyers an accurate sense of what it’s really like to walk through a home, with an interactive experience that shows off the home from every conceivable angle. This is just another example of how Redfin agents and technology work together to help you find the right home.”

Powered by the Matterport 3D Media Platform and its recently introduced 3D Showcase, Redfin 3D Walkthrough gives a 360-degree perspective of every room inside a home for sale, including a unique “dollhouse” view and a top-down floor plan layout. This feature allows homebuyers to navigate Redfin-listed homes for sale at their own pace, and helps home sellers who list with a Redfin agent get even more attention for their home.

“We’ve been collaborating with Redfin for the past year to take the Matterport computer vision and 3D computational photography technology and make it work best for Redfin’s listing agents,” said Bill Brown, Matterport CEO. “The experience of viewing an immersive and realistic home tour online provides yet another dimension to Redfin’s cutting-edge real estate experience, and we’ll continue to evolve the experience alongside Redfin in the future.”

Redfin 3D Walkthrough makes home listings stand out from the crowd, adding another benefit to sellers who list with Redfin. Redfin-listed homes on Redfin.com already get twice the views of non-Redfin listings via promotion and customized email marketing campaigns. On average, Redfin-listed homes sell three days faster and for $2,424 more than comparable homes.

Potential home sellers can work with a Redfin agent to get the Redfin 3D Walkthrough feature for their home. Visit www.redfin.com/agents to connect with a Redfin agent in your area and visit the Redfin blog for more details on Redfin 3D Walkthrough.

You use an agile process; your goal is to make your organization more agile. But what about your data infrastructure? The truth is, today's databases are anything but agile - they are effectively static repositories that are cumbersome to work with, difficult to change, and cannot keep pace with application demands. Performance suffers as a result, and it takes far longer than it should to deliver new features and capabilities needed to make your organization competitive. As your application an...
"For over 25 years we have been working with a lot of enterprise customers and we have seen how companies create applications. More and more file-based and machine generated data is being created every day causing exponential data and content growth, and creating a management nightmare for IT managers. The Industrial Internet revolution is now underway, enabled by connected machines and billions of devices that communicate and collaborate. Over the last few years the healthcare ecosystem has revolved around innovations in Electronic Health Record (HER) based systems. This evolution has helped us achieve much desired interoperability. What do a firewall and a fortress have in common? They are no longer strong enough to protect the valuables housed inside. Like the walls of an old fortress, the cracks in the firewall are allowing the bad guys to slip in - unannounced and unnoticed. By the time these thieves get in, the damage is already done and the network is already compromised. Intellectual property is easily slipped out the back door leaving no trace of forced entry. If we want to reign in on these cybercriminals, it's hig...
