NEW YORK, Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New York REIT, Inc. ("NYRT") (NYSE: NYRT), a publicly traded real estate investment trust ("REIT"), announced today that it has closed its previously announced acquisition of Twitter's headquarters in Manhattan located at 245-249 West 17th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood.
The property, which includes a 12-story office tower combined with an adjacent 6-story mixed use building, contains approximately 282,000 rentable square feet. In addition to Twitter, Room & Board, Inc. occupies the retail portion of the building. Flywheel Sports, Inc. is also a tenant.
