Jive Further Strengthens Its Innovative External Community Platform with Next Cloud Release

Latest update delivers deeper engagement, seamless connections across devices and innovative analytics tools to help companies better attract and retain customers and partners

PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jive Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: JIVE) today introduced the latest version of its JiveX external community platform, providing companies with even more powerful ways to engage with customers and partners "to get business done." With the JiveX Summer cloud update, customers gain significant new capabilities in three key areas that maximize community success: driving engagement, improving community analytics and connecting to existing systems. These features build on the successful introduction of JiveX Cloud earlier this year, which has already achieved strong adoption from companies turning to Jive to power their external communities.

@Jivesoftware strengthens its JiveX external community platform with latest cloud release, including more robust analytics to better leverage key influencers.

"An online community can make or break a company's reputation and significantly impact its top line. And as we are seeing more often, customers and partners are now participating in their communities from a variety of Web browsers – where experiences can vary," said Colleen Jansen, vice president of product marketing, Jive Software. "Our latest version of JiveX provides a compelling external community experience regardless of the user's device, so that our clients can more effectively attract and retain their important customers and partners – whether they're accessing the community from their desktop or mobile device."

On average, more than 25 percent of the traffic on JiveX customer and partner communities comes through mobile browsers. The Summer cloud release meets these growing needs by delivering one of the industry's most advanced, tailored experiences across devices.

Significant advancements in the JiveX Summer cloud release include:

  • Smarter mobile experience. A new responsive design capability ensures that as the size of a user's web browser changes, so does the layout of the site – making it easier to navigate and view critical content. Customers and partners visiting a company's online community will see the same great interface from any device while seeing the content and functionality that matters most.
  • Greater connectivity with CRM for improved customer care response time. The enhanced JiveX CRM Connector, which tightly connects communities with CRM systems, now comes with out-of-the-box templates for companies to offer private support portals for client – allowing customers to easily create their own support cases. In addition, JiveX extends bidirectional connections with CRM systems to help streamline customer care response time, including the ability to search content stored in the community directly from within a CRM system and sync knowledge articles about specific customers.
  • More robust analytics to better leverage key community influencers. JiveX now features enhanced Sentiment and Influencer Reports for community managers to gain instant visibility of key influencers within their community. With more granular access to influencer sentiment, a company can quickly detect and analyze important themes related to products, launches, ideas and issues to respond to or leverage influencers more easily in marketing and support efforts.

Since its launch earlier this year, the JiveX cloud version has experienced strong uptake. In just over six months, JiveX has gained significant adoption with new and existing customers – such as Akamai, Birst, GNS3, Humana, ServiceMax and SideCar.

Jive has been consistently recognized as one of the top market leaders in external communities for the past decade, with industry analyst reports regularly citing JiveX's out-of-the-box capabilities and visually rich user interface. In the most recent Forrester Wave Social Depth Platforms, Forrester stated: "Jive continues to maintain its leadership position with its robust set of community platform features and strong services offerings."1

Also announced today, Jive unveiled the Summer cloud release of its enterprise communication and collaboration platform.  More information can be found here.

The term culture has had a polarizing effect among DevOps supporters. Some propose that culture change is critical for success with DevOps, but are remiss to define culture. Some talk about a DevOps culture but then reference activities that could lead to culture change and there are those that talk about culture change as a set of behaviors that need to be adopted by those in IT. There is no question that businesses successful in adopting a DevOps mindset have seen departmental culture change, ...
