PLAINFIELD, Ill., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The 2015 model year should prove to be one of the most memorable for Ford dealerships as many of the brand's keystone nameplates are receiving redesigns. While those vehicles will get the attention, models that retain their current platform like the 2015 Ford Explorer near Bolingbrook IL are quietly making their way onto the Rod Baker Ford lot.
Although the 2015 Ford Explorer is not redesigned for the new model year, it does offer a number of new features and attributes. Among them is the all-new Appearance Package, which gives the Explorer a different look than ever before.
The Ford Explorer Appearance Package will be available on the XLT trim and, as its name indicates, it gives the SUV a more distinct look. Most notably, the new package will equip the Explorer with 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, leather seats with suede inserts, and specially designed floor mats. Additionally, the chrome door handles will be replaced with body color door handles to provide a new exterior look.
At the heart of the 2015 Ford Explorer, consumers will find a 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated for 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque that couples with a six-speed automatic transmission. Models with this powertrain are available with both front- and all-wheel drive. As is becoming commonplace within the Ford lineup, Ford offers an optional EcoBoost engine in the form a turbocharged, direct-injection 2.0-liter four-cylinder model that generates 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
With various trims and configurations, the 2015 Ford Explorer can be tailored to the specific needs of consumers. Those interested in the 2015 Ford Explorer can browse the inventory at www.rodbakerford.com. For questions or inquiries, call the dealership at 815-436-5681.
