Procera Networks Joins SDN and NFV Discussion at Intel® Developers Forum 2014

FREMONT, Calif., Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Procera Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:  PKT), the global Subscriber Experience company, today announced its participation on a live panel at the Intel® Network Builders Summit 2014 titled, "Moving from Use Cases/POCs to Deployment." Scott Robohn, senior director of solutions architecture and engineering at Procera will join the panel discussion that occurs Monday, September 8 at 3:00 p.m. PDT at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco.

The Intel Network Builders Summit, collocated with the Intel Developers Forum 2014, aims to educate service providers and independent software vendors on software defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) solutions and use cases, and to showcase ecosystem collaboration and innovation for SDN and NFV solutions. Procera announced that it joined the Intel Network Builders Program and Intel's joint SPECTRUM ecosystem in February to accelerate the development of SDN and NFV services that will help service providers reduce costs, increase flexibility and deliver services to customers more quickly.

The telecom industry at large recognizes the vast opportunity for SDN and NFV. However, a variety of challenges including product maturity, lack of standards, interoperability challenges, performance, and scalability could hinder evolution of the proof of concepts (POCs) and trials into full-scale deployment. This panel will include a Q&A discussion with key industry executives around how these challenges are being addressed and will be moderated by Intel network architect Murray Cooke.
