Korilla BBQ Prepares for Imminent Opening in the East Village--With Fine Food and Local Art

As established food truck Korilla BBQ makes its last preparations in opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in the East Village, it is now finalizing its improved menu and getting ready to unveil an illustrated indoor mural by East Village resident

NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The new Korilla BBQ has made a bold statement announcing its arrival in the East Village with its tiger-striped mural, and with its official opening scheduled for early October, will soon showcase more art through its refined menu and the restaurant's interior walls.

Korilla East Village's menu will feature the usual suspects with some interesting new accomplices, including the introduction of a new Tiger Sauce. Expect to see familiar options such as Korilla's famous burrito-style wraps, also known as Ssam, and the much-loved Ribeye Bulgogi, but with new twists and customizable options that are only available at their storefront restaurant. Collaborating with a former team member turned sous chef at ABC Kitchen, Korilla proves to be serious about upgrading their dining experience on all levels.

While Korilla BBQ has stirred up a buzz on the streets with its massive hand-painted mural by Colossal Media, the establishment's interior will feature an intricate illustration by local artist Terry Galmitz, and designs by architect partner Thaddeus Briner.

The indoor mural, a collaboration between team Korilla and Terry Galmitz, well-illustrates the East Village, both aesthetically and conceptually. Hoping to one day become a classic destination in the area themselves, Korilla will present its street culture within the context of the illustrious history of the East Village. As a new establishment in the area, Korilla pays homage to the past, while embracing the present, and aiming to shape their surrounding landscape in a positive direction in the future.

The artist Terry Galmitz, in his late 60s, specializes in black-ink illustrations featuring iconic storefronts and scenes from the East Village. He has spent most of his life in the area, while his works have been featured in a solo exhibition titled "My East Village", which was introduced on the front page of The New York Times' Art & Leisure section. The show featured illustrations of classic East Village landmarks including Mars Bar, Tompkins Square Park, Astor Place, Katz's Delicatessen, McSorley's Old Ale House, and CBGB.

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.
