Professor Greg Whyte OBE and psychotherapist Jon Treanor launch ‘Corporate Contender’ programme for 360 degree executive health

Unique programme delivers comprehensive wellness assessment and strategies for maintaining both mental and physical health

World-renowned sports scientist and physical activity expert, Professor Greg Whyte OBE, and psychotherapist and entrepreneur, Jon Treanor, today announce the launch of ‘Corporate Contender', the first comprehensive wellness programme aimed at delivering 360 degree health for corporate executives, at the Centre for Health and Human Performance (CHHP), Harley Street, London.

The first of its kind, Corporate Contender couples a specialist physical assessment with psychological and emotional profiling for the ultimate health check. Professor Greg Whyte and Jon Treanor, both experts in their fields of physiology and psychotherapy respectively, devised the unique programme on realising that many of their clients, and their clients' businesses, could benefit from something more than the regular corporate health check.

Psychotherapist, successful entrepreneur and former blue-chip CEO Jon Treanor, explains: "With growing evidence that ignoring stress can be disruptive and costly to business; improving health and performance in the workplace is moving higher up the agenda for businesses. By providing employees with access to expert support, ‘burn out', time off sick and performance issues can be potentially avoided."

He added: "Corporate Contender is totally unique in today's business environment - a comprehensive wellness profile to help busy executives perform to their optimum ability, as well as grow as individuals - not just surviving but thriving, both in business and personally."

Corporate Contender involves a thorough physiological assessment with CHHP's renowned specialists, including a comprehensive nutritional consultation and biomechanical assessments, followed by a session with a qualified psychotherapist. To cater for busy schedules the full programme can be completed in one half-day session or as individual assessments.

Ahead of the programme, clients answer a specifically designed Emotional Intelligence questionnaire, providing a personal and confidential report, indicating patterns of individual strengths and areas for development, to be explored in a psychotherapy session, along with recommendations and strategies for maintaining a healthy mind.

Greg Whyte OBE, Professor of Applied Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University and Director of Performance at CHHP, added: "Being physically fit has obvious benefits, such as reducing stress and fighting disease, but good health isn't just restricted to the body; our mind plays a central role in performance and is often neglected, limiting us from reaching our full potential. Corporate Contender aims to help today's work-weary professional stay at the top of their game and lead happy, healthy and successful lives for longer."

The Corporate Contender programme costs £1750 per person and bookings can be made via CHHP on an individual or team basis. For further details and to book your appointment, please visit: www.chhp.com/corporate-contender

CHHP will be hosting a Corporate Contender introduction evening at Home House in London from 6.30pm on Tuesday 7th July 2015. For more details and to book tickets, please contact Katie-Ann at katieann[at]butterflypa[dot]co.uk, call 07500 726444 or visit www.jontreanor.com

Skeuomorphism usually means retaining existing design cues in something new that doesn’t actually need them. However, the concept of skeuomorphism can be thought of as relating more broadly to applying existing patterns to new technologies that, in fact, cry out for new approaches. In his session at DevOps Summit, Gordon Haff, Senior Cloud Strategy Marketing and Evangelism Manager at Red Hat, discussed why containers should be paired with new architectural practices such as microservices rathe...
Using serverless computing has a number of obvious benefits over traditional application infrastructure - you pay only for what you use, scale up or down immediately to match supply with demand, and avoid operating any server infrastructure at all. However, implementing maintainable and scalable applications using serverless computing services like AWS Lambda poses a number of challenges. The absence of long-lived, user-managed servers means that states cannot be maintained by the service. Lo...
Here to help unpack insights into the new era of using containers to gain ease with multi-cloud deployments are our panelists: Matt Baldwin, Founder and CEO at StackPointCloud, based in Seattle; Nic Jackson, Developer Advocate at HashiCorp, based in San Francisco, and Reynold Harbin, Director of Product Marketing at DigitalOcean, based in New York. In 2014, Amazon announced a new form of compute called Lambda. We didn't know it at the time, but this represented a fundamental shift in what we expect from cloud computing. Now, all of the major cloud computing vendors want to take part in this disruptive technology. In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, John Jelinek IV, a web developer at Linux Academy, will discuss why major players like AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM Bluemix, and Google Cloud Platform are all trying to sidestep VMs and containers...

With the rise of Docker, Kubernetes, and other container technologies, the growth of microservices has skyrocketed among dev teams looking to innovate on a faster release cycle. This has enabled teams to finally realize their DevOps goals to ship and iterate quickly in a continuous delivery model. Why containers are growing in popularity is no surprise — they’re extremely easy to spin up or down, but come with an unforeseen issue. However, without the right foresight, DevOps and IT teams may lo...

92% of enterprises are using the public cloud today. As a result, simply being in the cloud is no longer enough to remain competitive. Signs of a shift in the usage of public clouds are everywhere. Previously, as organizations outgrew old IT methods, the natural answer was to try the public cloud approach; however, the public platform alone is not a complete solution. Complaints include unpredictable/escalating costs and mounting security concerns in the public cloud. Ultimately, public cloud adoption can ultimately mean a shift of IT pains instead of a resolution. That's why the move to hybrid, custom, and multi-cloud will ...
