LAVAL, QUEBEC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/01/07 -- Gee-Ten Ventures Inc. (Gee-Ten, the Corporation) (TSX VENTURE: GTV) announces it has acquired major participations in 2 exploration permits ("PR": permis de recherche) in the Democratic Republic of Congo ("DRC").
These permits are located near the 505 exploitation permit ("PEPM"; permis d'exploitation de la petite mine) already owned by the Corporation. Gee-Ten thus acquires a 75% interest in the Bashala Joint Venture owner of the 992 permit. In return, the Corporation will pay to the seller 35,000 USD in two installments and issue 500,000 treasury shares. Gee-Ten also acquires an 80% interest in the Luwanda Joint Venture, owner of the 4679 permit against cash payments totalling 35,000 USD and the issuance of 300,000 treasury shares.
Permits 992 and 4679 are located in the Tshikapa region of the Western Kasai province along the Longtsimo river, a region where the MIBA ("La miniere de Bakwanga", an 80% state-owned diamandiferous corporation) had already estimated a 13 million carat resource.
Last September and October, by request from Gee-Ten, Diacorp's team of geologists had carried out a mission to evaluate the flats and terrasses of PEPM 505 and PR 4679 and 992 and perform a gravel sampling, control the summits of these permits and carry out GPS readings.
These transactions are subject to approval by self regulatory bodies.
These acquisitions bring to three, for the time being, the number of permits that Gee-Ten owns in DRC. On July 19th 2006, the Corporation had announced the acquisition of an 80% interest in the Kamonia PEPM on which a 43-101 technical report will be filed in the next few days. The Corporation announces that it has reviewed the therms of its agreement with Diacorp Group on this project. The initial agreement called for the issuance of 2,500,000 common shares and a cash payment of 50,000 USD; the new agreement now grants issuance of 1,500,000 treasury shares and a cash payment of 150,000 USD.
Over the next few days, an advisor to the Corporation will go back to DRC to complete the necessary procedures to set up a permanent office.
THE TSX VENTURE EXCHANGE HAS NOT REVIEWED AND DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ADEQUACY OR ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION PRESENTED IN THIS PRESS RELEASE.
