EASTON, Md., March 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On February 27th, Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care, Inc. was recognized as a key contributor to the success of electronic prescribing adoption and utilization in Maryland through its efforts to provide support to primary care physicians to acquire and implement electronic health records, including e-prescribing programs.
The announcement recognized Maryland as one of the top 10 e-prescribing states in the nation with the presentation of the 2007 Safe-Rx(TM) award. This award recognizes how e-prescribing enhances patient safety by providing a more secure, accurate and informed prescribing process. The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) and SureScripts(R) created the Safe-Rx award, which goes to the top 10 states and three physicians within the winning states who have demonstrated outstanding leadership through their use of e-prescribing technology.
