ORLANDO, Fla., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Savvy consumers who value "health and wellness choices" have a robust new online resource -- AlternativesGateway.com (http://www.alternativesgateway.com/) -- to access for both holistic and traditional medical information and resources. Designed by Magnetic, a Tampa Web design and development company, the new portal launches this week. It's owned by Orlando resident Pete Esquinaldo, who has enjoyed a lifelong interest in holistic and alternative medical options including wellness programs.
An electrical engineer by training and aerospace management expert by profession, Esquinaldo tasked Magnetic with creating a comfortable online venue where consumers might go to corral diverse pieces of information needed to maintain and enhance their health, spirituality and metaphysical well- being. "Our goal is not to suggest one type of service or program over another, but to give consumers multiple options so they may make informed decisions that meet their personal needs," emphasizes Esquinaldo.
Characterized by soothing blue, gray and peach colors, AlternativesGateway.com sets a comfortable, welcoming aura for visitors. Two lighthouses on the top banner feature light beacons that symbolically lead visitors to whatever they're seeking. While utilizing flash technology, the site has a calming feel.
Core content is delivered in several streams. In the center of the main page, visitors will find 62 clickable topics, everything from Naturopathy to Tai Chi, from Spiritual Counseling to Hospice. In a down-to-earth fashion, the site succinctly explains what's involved with each topic.
"Whether consumers seek information about chiropractors or holistic healers, traditional physicians or acupuncture, yoga or Pilates, Herbology or a holistic dentist, as well as dozens of other topics, this site delivers layers of information and choices that people will find helpful," stresses Esquinaldo. "We're a work in progress so we'll be adding features throughout the year, but we have a good foundation."
On the main page's right column, featured articles and an RSS feed (from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, National Institutes of Health) provide holistic and alternative medical news. The main page's left column also contains a searchable provider directory.
Ultimately, that directory will feature significant listings of holistic practitioners, light workers, yoga or martial arts experts, massage therapists, health professionals and so on. Visitors will be able to put in their zip code and search for specific types of providers located from five to 75 miles away.
AlternativesGateway.com is also a central place for Web visitors to share healing or wellness experiences. Other site features include event listings and full-bodied Links. Service providers (such as massage or spiritual therapists) who create a paid listing on the site will receive an online appointment scheduler for consumers to use.
