We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
COLLEYVILLE, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/24/07 -- digiMedical Solutions, Inc.(TM) (PINKSHEETS: DGMS) today announced it has applied for a Wholesale Distribution License
for the company's central Florida facility, located in Naples, Florida. A
Wholesale Distribution License will allow the central Harrington's facility
to provide physicians, hospitals, and other pharmacies a local place to
purchase medication and supplies that they otherwise cannot obtain due to
shortages and emergency situations. The license will also provide the
company an additional source of sales and revenue.
Susanne Myler, Vice President of Operations, states, "In light of the
recent Albuterol inhaler (trade name Proventil®, manufactured by
Schering-Plough) shortage and reformulation in December, it became apparent
that we needed to assist all the healthcare entities in the area to ensure
the health of the population. In that case, our pharmacies were able to
obtain a large amount of the inhalers where others were not. Being a
localized wholesaler will provide other healthcare entities in the area an
additional option for purchasing medications. Additionally, supplies can be
obtained that day, rather than having a patient wait 24 hours to receive
treatment. In some cases, a 24 hour wait period can create additional
health complications. We are happy to provide this service to our patients
and colleagues in the Naples area."
