ChosenSecurity CEO Neal Creighton Named a Finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) Award in New England

Recognized for Leadership of Identity and Trust Services Pioneer GeoTrust, Inc.

NEEDHAM, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/25/07 -- ChosenSecurity, Inc., a leading specialist in identity verification and security services, today announced that its chief executive, Neal Creighton, has been named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award in New England. Creighton was selected for his work at GeoTrust, Inc., which was acquired in 2006 by VeriSign, Inc. At that time, ChosenSecurity was spun out of GeoTrust to continue the company's focus on providing advanced identity verification and security solutions to thousands of customers worldwide.

The Ernst & Young awards program, the most prestigious of its kind in the U.S., is designed to recognize individuals whose vision, leadership, achievement and social responsibility enable them to create and sustain world-class businesses. Award winners will be announced on June 14, 2007.

Under Creighton's leadership since 2001, GeoTrust automated the identification of people, organizations, computers and software online. The quality of GeoTrust's technology and services, coupled with expanding market demand for technology that enables trusted online communications and transactions, fueled GeoTrust's rapid growth. In 2005, the company bought security services expert TC TrustCenter. When GeoTrust itself was acquired in 2006 by security industry leader VeriSign, Creighton and much of the GeoTrust team created ChosenSecurity from the TC TrustCenter subsidiary in order to further their focus on meeting the identity verification demands associated with the next wave of Internet use. ChosenSecurity, which is owned by former GeoTrust shareholders, is not affiliated with VeriSign.

"GeoTrust represented a unique type of success -- and one that was shared by everyone within the organization," said Creighton. "Our team built a company that was so successful that it began to rival one of the giants in the security industry. Acquisition by that firm served as recognition of how far GeoTrust progressed as a company. At the same time, ChosenSecurity in many ways represents the continuation of GeoTrust through a new generation of technology and services designed to allow people and businesses to verify and secure identities online. I'm pleased to be recognized by the Ernst & Young committee and to share this honor with the GeoTrust and ChosenSecurity teams."

Using serverless computing has a number of obvious benefits over traditional application infrastructure - you pay only for what you use, scale up or down immediately to match supply with demand, and avoid operating any server infrastructure at all. However, implementing maintainable and scalable applications using serverless computing services like AWS Lambda poses a number of challenges. The absence of long-lived, user-managed servers means that states cannot be maintained by the service. Lo...

Kubernetes as a Container Platform is becoming a de facto for every enterprise. In my interactions with enterprises adopting container platform, I come across common questions: - How does application security work on this platform? What all do I need to secure? - How do I implement security in pipelines? - What about vulnerabilities discovered at a later point in time? - What are newer technologies like Istio Service Mesh bring to table? In this session, I will be addressing these commonly asked ...
In a recent survey, Sumo Logic surveyed 1,500 customers who employ cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). According to the survey, a quarter of the respondents have already deployed Docker containers and nearly as many (23 percent) are employing the AWS Lambda serverless computing framework. It's clear: serverless is here to stay. The adoption does come with some needed changes, within both application development and operations. Th...
