CACI Awarded $91 Million Task Order to Support U.S. Army Defense Communications and Transmission Systems
Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) Award Increases CACI Support for Army Communications

By: PR Newswire
May. 3, 2007 12:00 PM

ARLINGTON, Va., May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CACI International Inc announced today that it has been awarded a task order to provide satellite-to-ground telecommunications systems engineering, information technology, and field support services for the Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS). The four-year effort has a potential value of $91 million. This is the first prime contract for CACI with PM DCATS, though the company has had previous experience with the program. The competitive award, won through the $19.25 billion, U.S. Army Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract vehicle that CACI announced in March 2006, positions CACI to increase its existing PM DCATS support, add new work, and expand its overall business supporting Army C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance).

PM DCATS provides long-haul connectivity that links Army headquarters, the Joint Services, and battlefield commanders. Using technologies that range from microwave and satellite signals to fiber optic and copper cables, PM DCATS manages the building of telecommunications hubs and the development and fielding of telecommunications transmission systems for Department of Defense needs worldwide.

CACI will support PM DCATS in both the U.S. and Asia. Abroad, the company will assist the Army with communications support and provide related services in training and logistics. It will also continue its information technology support for telecommunications command centers in South Korea and Hawaii. At PM DCATS headquarters in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, CACI systems engineers will help the Army design and develop telecommunication systems, evaluate best-of- breed technologies, and assist in providing interoperability between new and legacy systems.

According to Paul Cofoni, President of U.S. Operations, "CACI will provide the U.S. Army with high-quality telecommunications support from ground to satellite and back again. We understand the importance of telecommunications to the Army's strategic and tactical goals for winning the war on terrorism, and are proud to offer proven solutions and expert personnel to achieve these goals decisively and effectively."

Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Chairman, President, and CEO, said "CACI is pleased to continue our service to the U.S. Army through this latest Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) award. Our S3 partnership with the Army continues to grow and enable us to supply technical expertise that complements Army skill sets, saves taxpayer dollars, and provides needed support for America's national security."
