NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/10/07 -- The Fourth Annual Collaborative Communications
Summit: Transforming Health Care through Health Information Technology
(www.ccsexpo.com) will take place May 17-18, 2007 at the Ritz Carlton
Washington, DC. The CCS is a proud partner of National Health IT Week
(www.healthitweek.org).
Congressman Kennedy will present at this year's CCS VIP Dinner on May 17th,
addressing the shifting health care landscape. He will share his
perspective on the importance and future of health information technology
and how HIT will lead to improved access and better quality health care.
"With health care costs to businesses and families marching ever upwards,
and the number of uninsured continuing to grow, it is imperative that we
begin to fix our health care system," said Kennedy. "I.T. gives us the
potential to transform health care so it delivers the best possible
outcomes at the lowest possible cost, and that's the health care system
Americans need and deserve."
Throughout his political career, Kennedy, named the 15th most powerful
person in health care in 2006 by Modern Healthcare magazine, has made
universal access to high quality, efficient care one of his top priorities.
Kennedy co-authored the 21st Century Health Information Act to create
health information networks and promote the adoption of health information
technology legislation that has broad bipartisan support, including the
support of former Speaker Newt Gingrich and Senator Hillary Clinton.
The 4th Annual Collaborative Communications Summit: Transforming Health
Care through Health Information Technology is designed to help top-level
