PLANO, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/15/07 -- ESPRE Solutions, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: EPRT), a
Dallas-based media solutions and technology company with a revolutionary
and patented video compression technology, today announced it has signed an
exclusive software and market license with SureCast Media.
SureCast Media, an entertainment software service provider based in Geneva,
Switzerland, has agreed to license ESPRE's eViewMedia Engine(TM) for the
Entertainment Market. Specifically, the market is defined as
professionally produced, pre-recorded video content such as feature length
movies, sports reproductions, and IPTV (pre-recorded and live broadcast
television shows, distributed over the Internet). The business model for
SureCast Media has not yet been announced to the public, however per the
terms in the agreement it may include pay-per-view, ad insertion and
subscription fee-based compensation.
Exact financial terms of the deal are protected under a non-disclosure
agreement. High-level financial terms of the agreement include a down
payment that was paid by SureCast Media upon signing the license to use
ESPRE Solutions' technology for the entertainment market, with an
additional payment due upon first product release, which is anticipated in
the fourth quarter of this year. Additionally, ESPRE will be paid an
ongoing royalty for sales made by SureCast Media.
This deal was made possible following a separate agreement with Media
Distribution Solutions (MDS), who had previously licensed ESPRE's
technology for the online classifieds, social networking and online
entertainment markets. Following early success in the online classifieds
market, MDS sold back rights for entertainment and social networking to
ESPRE in order to focus on video enabling online sales exclusively. MDS
has made significant progress in launching unique video solutions for the
online classifieds market with service contracts with ForRent.com, plus a
major domestic yellow pages publisher, as well as one of the Top 5 US
newspaper publishers. Details of the financial agreement with MDS are
undisclosed at this time.
Pete Ianace, CEO and President of ESPRE Solutions, states, "There has been
a tremendous amount of activity recently made by media companies to create
unique online video experiences for their audiences. This initiative with
SureCast Media will deliver a true, TV-quality user experience for Internet
users over all broadband environments -- including the mobile Internet.
Delivering true web distribution implies not limiting the user to only 150
channels of selectable media, but making thousands of interactive channels
available.
SureCast Media will couple this user experience with ESPRE's patented
digital rights management technology that upon release will assure wide
industry acceptance while using up to 50% less bandwidth than other
offerings currently available in the market."
