MedQuist Number One in KLAS Front-End Speech Recognition Report Issued May 2007
MedQuist Number One in KLAS Front-End Speech Recognition Report Issued May 2007

By: PR Newswire
May. 22, 2007 01:00 PM

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., May 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MedQuist Inc. (Pink Sheets: MEDQ.PK) announces that SpeechQ for Radiology(TM) was rated number one for front-end speech recognition by customers, according to KLAS Enterprises' Speech Recognition Report, May 2007.(1) This is the second consecutive year in which SpeechQ has been recognized as the leading solution in this category. SpeechQ was also cited in the "Top 20: 2006 Best in KLAS Awards" Report.

"We are pleased that SpeechQ, our easy-to-use and reliable speech recognition solution, has been recognized once again by KLAS," said Mark Ivie, MedQuist Chief Technology Officer. "Our customers have expressed their appreciation for the knowledgeable implementation, training and support team members who help them to realize their business and workflow goals."

KLAS surveys and interviews more than 4,500 hospitals across the country to create hundreds of vendor profiles and rankings based solely on customer feedback. The survey questions cover the entire continuum of customers' experiences with vendors and solutions, from the sales process to implementation and training components, to determining if the customers would recommend the company and product to others. MedQuist scored an overall vendor ranking score of 87.6 percent, significantly higher than the average of 79.9 percent, and almost 7 points ahead of the nearest competitor.

SpeechQ for Radiology is designed to significantly reduce report turnaround time and the associated costs of creating radiology reports. Radiologists can elect to dictate, review and immediately authenticate (e-sign) their reports, or send to a medical editor at their discretion. An embedded Workflow Engine allows facilities to easily customize the system to meet their unique needs and policies. For example, the Workflow Engine can identify those reports interpreted by a resident or those that require an overread (two or more physicians reviewing the same case to validate findings) and route to the appropriate physician(s), which further streamlines the reporting process.
