NEW YORK, June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Agilysys, Inc. , a leading provider of innovative IT solutions announced today that Arthur Rhein, Agilysys chairman, president and chief executive officer received the VARBusiness 500 Executive of the Year Award for overseeing the company's transformation into one of North America's leading IT solution providers. The seventh annual award ceremony, honoring the IT-channel industry's biggest and best solution providers, was held yesterday at The Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.

Mr. Rhein joined Agilysys in 1981, serving as vice president of the Northeast Region until 1986, when he was named senior vice president of marketing. His responsibilities were expanded to include sales and he was named to the Board of Directors in 1990. Mr. Rhein was named president and chief executive officer in April 2002 after serving as president and chief operating officer since 1997. He was elected chairman April 30, 2003.
