Typemock Releases New Isolator Version With Support For Visual Studio Team Services

Isolator Version 8.5 also includes breakthrough “Insight” feature with instant test analysis

Typemock (www.typemock.com), the leading provider and pioneer of automated unit testing solutions, has announced today the release of Isolator Version 8.5 for .NET. The new version is packed with new features, including support for VSTS where developers and testers can run suggested text in a self-service sandboxed environment.

The new Typemock extension includes two tasks: (1) SmartRunner, a unit test runner that can run NUnit and MSTest based tests, can handle the deployment of Typemock Isolator, and can run on both Shared and On Premises Agents;. and (2) Typemock with VSTest, which acts as a wrapper enabling Typemock Isolator to run tests via VSTest.

Unit testing is a method of software function analysis where small parts of code, or modules, are tested to determine whether they are compatible with the software as a whole. The goal of unit testing is to ensure that each individual part of a program is working correctly. Unit testing helps a developer discover problems early, simplifies integration, and allows for better documentation of the overall software build. It is also the backbone of Agile, enabling the rapid change of software.

In addition to Typemock’s VSTS support, the new version includes “Insight”, a revolutionary feature which provides the developer with instant test analysis, letting you know if a method was faked or if the test used an unfaked instance.

Additional new features include:

Support for Asynchronous tests

Mocking now has an API for hidden base methods, and can verify future fields and fakes fields.

SmartRunner includes shadow copy support and runs x32 and x64 tests simultaneously.

With Typemock, private methods can also be mocked and faked and are no longer treated as third class systems. The stability of Typemock is recognized by industries with a low margin for error: Fifty percent of the largest banks have teams using Typemock and a large Southwest based bank recently signed on for 200 .NET developers and 100 C++ developers to use Typemock.

“At Typemock, we’re not going to allow you to make a mistake,” said Eli Lopian, the Founder and CEO of Typemock. “We created a tool and an environment where our users fall into the pit of success. Isolator has developed into a highly stable, intuitive, and high standard solution that guides you to create, clean, error-free code.”

About Typemock

Typemock was conceived in 2005 to help companies and programmers become agile through easy automated unit testing. While a hybrid cloud can ease that transition, designing and deploy that hybrid cloud still offers challenges for organizations concerned about lack of available cloud skillsets within their organization. Managed service providers offer a unique opportunity to fill those gaps and get organizations of all sizes on a hybrid cloud that meets their comfort level, while delivering enhanced benefits for cost, efficiency, agility, mobility, and elasticity.
DevOps has long focused on reinventing the SDLC (e.g. with CI/CD, ARA, pipeline automation etc.), while reinvention of IT Ops has lagged. However, new approaches like Site Reliability Engineering, Observability, Containerization, Operations Analytics, and ML/AI are driving a resurgence of IT Ops. In this session our expert panel will focus on how these new ideas are [putting the Ops back in DevOps orbringing modern IT Ops to DevOps].

Most organizations are awash today in data and IT systems, yet they're still struggling mightily to use these invaluable assets to meet the rising demand for new digital solutions and customer experiences that drive innovation and growth. What's lacking are potent and effective ways to rapidly combine together on-premises IT and the numerous commercial clouds that the average organization has in place today into effective new business solutions.
Concerns about security, downtime and latency, budgets, and general unfamiliarity with cloud technologies continue to create hesitation for many organizations that truly need to be developing a cloud strategy. Hybrid cloud solutions are helping to elevate those concerns by enabling the combination or orchestration of two or more platforms, including on-premise infrastructure, private clouds and/or third-party, public cloud services. Keeping an application running at scale can be a daunting task. When do you need to add more capacity? Larger databases? Additional servers? These questions get harder as the complexity of your application grows.
