Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

Labor Day Tips to Take Advantage of the Talent Shortage; Turn Job Seeking Into Job Placement

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/29/07 -- In the sprit of Labor Day's celebration of the American worker, ERE Media (http://www.ere.net), a community of recruiters around the world, offers job seekers six tips to landing their next job.

"Recruiters today are faced with a limited talent supply, so it's a golden opportunity for job seekers to reinvent themselves and cast their nets wide in their job search," says Todd Raphael, ERE's editor-in-chief.

1. Keep your day job. Recruiters' ideal candidates are those who are happily employed and successful. Don't quit your job in order to look for another one.

2. See and be seen. Increase your visibility and promote your successes by posting on blogs; starting your own blog; keeping your social-networking profiles up-to-date; speaking at conferences; or writing for magazines and websites. Network with industry peers through professional organizations.

3. Reinvent yourself. Several professional baseball pitchers today are 40+ years old. Their careers have lasted much longer than a typical baseball career because they have reinvented themselves -- starting out as fastball pitchers, and changing to curveball or finesse pitchers as they aged. It's not too late to reinvent yourself. Learn complementary skills and find new uses for your talents.

4. Don't ignore smaller job boards. Mainstream job sites like Monster, CareerBuilder, and HotJobs are important, but new job-searching sites such as resumefit.com, climber.com, itzbig.com, and readytohire.com offer valuable leads. Many of these sites offer assessments that determine a job seeker's skills and interests before matching candidates with potential jobs.

5. Research smaller companies. While the top employers are typically inundated with candidates, there are many jobs available at lesser-known companies in growing sectors like transportation, energy, defense and even foodservice.

6. Pay attention to the world around you. Evaluate industries in growth mode. As campaign season starts, politicians will need IT help. The Olympics are approaching, and sports writers and others will be needed to cover it.
