Nelly.com Selects Yottaa to Optimize Website Performance and Increase Online Conversions

Yottaa, Inc., the leading Cloud platform for accelerating eCommerce, today announced that Nelly.com, Scandinavia’s largest online fashion retailer catering to young adults with the latest fashions fresh from the catwalk, has selected Yottaa Rapid CTRL to optimally sequence the loading of third party eCommerce technologies on its sites resulting in improved site performance and increased online conversions.

Nelly.com, a division of Qliro Group (STO: QLRO), offers fashion and beauty products for young women through Nelly.com and for men through NLY Man. At Nelly’s core is its own brand, NLY, complemented by a carefully selected assortment of fashion from more than 200 brands. Its own brand is highly fashionable and fosters strong customer loyalty. Nelly.com represents the future of eCommerce in the very competitive fashion market, particularly in the key 18-26 year old demographic.

With its young and demanding shoppers, fast website performance is very important to Nelly. The company relies on not only great products but also engaging online content to deliver unique, personalized experiences to its shoppers. This requires a network and ecosystem of 3rd-party technologies, including personalization, live chat, and recommendations and reviews. Unfortunately, in the past these third parties caused the company’s websites to load slowly.

As Nelly.com added more and more third party technologies to its sites, it found it increasingly difficult to assess how the third parties were impacting site speed. In order to better orchestrate, accelerate, and control those technologies, Nelly ran a trial with Yottaa Rapid CTRL and immediately page load times began dropping, particularly for shoppers on mobile devices, where page load times were reduced by 47%. During the trial average overall page load times were reduced by 30% with the Nelly.com home page loading in 2.5 seconds.

“At Nelly we are always strategizing on how to optimally attract shoppers to our sites and then how to give them a great online experience once they arrive,” said Oskar Kerola, Online Optimization Manager for Nelly.com. “An integral part of this strategy is constantly evaluating and testing how third parties are impacting site performance and conversion. And this is where Yottaa shines. We were set up with Yottaa Rapid CTRL in a matter of hours, and within a day we could see both significant speed and conversion improvements. We pride ourselves on site experience and speed, and Yottaa helps us deliver on both."

Combining eCommerce acceleration, third party control, actionable analytics, and simple deployment, Yottaa’s Rapid CTRL enables retailers to speed up, optimize, and sequence their sites in a matter of hours. The end result is reduced third party violations, thousands of hours of time saved, an exceptionally fast website, and increased conversions.

“Nelly.com is committed to providing its shoppers with fast and engaging online experiences,” said Rich Stendardo, CEO of Yottaa. “With a new class of technology delivered by Yottaa Rapid CTRL, Nelly can add all the third party eCommerce technologies needed to ensure great online shopper experiences while still having fast loading pages. Yottaa has already helped Nelly to improve performance by 30% on average and we look forward to working with Nelly.com to further optimize its sites.”

As you know, enterprise IT conversation over the past year have often centered upon the open-source Kubernetes container orchestration system. In fact, Kubernetes has emerged as the key technology -- and even primary platform -- of cloud migrations for a wide variety of organizations. Kubernetes is critical to forward-looking enterprises that continue to push their IT infrastructures toward maximum functionality, scalability, and flexibility. As they do so, IT professionals are also embr...
The vast majority of organizations today are in the earliest stages of AI initiatives and this shift will be dramatic as more enterprises move forward in the AI journey. Although companies are at different stages of this journey, most agree that finding or developing analytic talent is a key concern and bottleneck for doing more. What if your business could take advantage of the most advanced ML/AI models without the huge upfront time and investment inherent in building an internal ML/AI data sc...

Docker is sweeping across startups and enterprises alike, changing the way we build and ship applications. It's the most prominent and widely known software container platform, and it's particularly useful for eliminating common challenges when collaborating on code (like the "it works on my machine" phenomenon that most devs know all too well). With Docker, you can run and manage apps side-by-side - in isolated containers - resulting in better compute density. It's something that many developer...
While a hybrid cloud can ease that transition, designing and deploy that hybrid cloud still offers challenges for organizations concerned about lack of available cloud skillsets within their organization. Managed service providers offer a unique opportunity to fill those gaps and get organizations of all sizes on a hybrid cloud that meets their comfort level, while delivering enhanced benefits for cost, efficiency, agility, mobility, and elasticity.
GCP Marketplace is based on a multi-cloud and hybrid-first philosophy, focused on giving Google Cloud partners and enterprise customers flexibility without lock-in. It also helps customers innovate by easily adopting new technologies from ISV partners, such as commercial Kubernetes applications, and allows companies to oversee the full lifecycle of a solution, from discovery through management.

Signs of a shift in the usage of public clouds are everywhere Previously, as organizations outgrew old IT methods, the natural answer was to try the public cloud approach; however, the public platform alone is not a complete solutionThe move to hybrid, custom, and multi-cloud will become more and more prevalent At the heart of this technology trend exists a custom solution to meet the needs and concerns of these organizations, including compliance, security, and cost issues Blending Ser...
Kubernetes as a Container Platform is becoming a de facto for every enterprise. In my interactions with enterprises adopting container platform, I come across common questions: - How does application security work on this platform? What all do I need to secure? - How do I implement security in pipelines? - What about vulnerabilities discovered at a later point in time? - What are newer technologies like Istio Service Mesh bring to table? In this session, I will be addressing these commonly asked ...
Today most companies are adopting or evaluating container technology - Docker in particular - to speed up application deployment, drive down cost, ease management and make application delivery more flexible overall. As with most new architectures, this dream takes significant work to become a reality. Even when you do get your application componentized enough and packaged properly, there are still challenges for DevOps teams to making the shift to continuous delivery and achieving that reducti...
The KCSP program is a pre-qualified tier of vetted service providers that offer Kubernetes support, consulting, professional services and training for organizations embarking on their Kubernetes journey. Skeuomorphism usually means retaining existing design cues in something new that doesn’t actually need them. However, the concept of skeuomorphism can be thought of as relating more broadly to applying existing patterns to new technologies that, in fact, cry out for new approaches. In his session at DevOps Summit, Gordon Haff, Senior Cloud Strategy Marketing and Evangelism Manager at Red Hat, discussed why containers should be paired with new architectural practices such as microservices rathe...
Between the mockups and specs produced by analysts, and resulting applications built by developers, there exists a gulf where projects fail, costs spiral, and applications disappoint. Methodologies like Agile attempt to address this with intensified communication, with partial success but many limitations. When a company wants to develop an application, it must worry about many aspects: selecting the infrastructure, building the technical stack, defining the storage strategy, configuring networks, setting up monitoring and logging, and on top of that, the company needs to worry about high availability, flexibility, scalability, data processing, machine learning, etc. Going to the cloud infrastructure can help you solving these problems to a level, but what if we have a better way to do things. ...
In a recent survey, Sumo Logic surveyed 1,500 customers who employ cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). According to the survey, a quarter of the respondents have already deployed Docker containers and nearly as many (23 percent) are employing the AWS Lambda serverless computing framework. It's clear: serverless is here to stay. The adoption does come with some needed changes, within both application development and operations. Th...
