Plutora Recognized as a Strong Performer in Value Stream Management by Independent Research Firm

Plutora, leading provider of continuous delivery management for enterprise IT, today announced that it has been positioned as a Strong Performer in The Forrester New Wave™: Value Stream Management Tools, Q3 2018. Designed to assist application and delivery leaders in selecting the right solution for improving software development, Forrester Research assessed the 13 most significant vendors in the category against 10 criteria relating to product functionality and market strategy.

According to the Forrester report, authored by Christopher Condo and Bill Seguin, “VSM is an emerging market: Vendors with a vision of empowering teams with analytics informed by real-world data and flexible planning schemes beat out those that focus on incremental enhancements within their traditional domains.”

Plutora believes that it was ranked as a strong performer on the strength of its current offering. The Plutora Continuous Management Platform received a differentiated distinction in five out of the 10 criteria, including:

  • Analytics – the capability to create what-if scenarios, predict the impact of adding new steps to an existing value stream and performing risk assessment and other decision support capabilities.
  • Common data model – the ability to store data in a consistent, documented, easily accessible way
  • Governance – a framework to monitor compliance, automated audit capabilities and compliance traceability
  • Visualization – the technology to capture, measure, and provide end-to-end visualization of KPIs for efficiency and quality in different role-based views
  • Market approach – tangible evidence of a successful approach to customers today in marketing, vertical market strategy, geographic strategy, account momentum and growth and commercial model

Forrester’s New Wave Report is based on rigorous analysis, backed up by highly structured methodologies. The Forrester team conducted primary research to develop a list of vendors that met the criteria for the evaluation and definition of this emerging market. These vendors were then assessed based on the defined criteria and where they stand in relation to each other.

“We believe that Forrester recognizes this emerging technology market as a reflection of what we are seeing in conversations with customers and a demand for our products capabilities. To be recognized as a Strong Performer within this wave is an honor and, in our view, validates the hard work and perseverance that everyone on the Plutora team has put in to ensure the platform meets the needs of teams on the ground,” said Dalibor Siroky, co-Founder and CEO at Plutora. “We have had some great success stories this year, and believe this recognition from Forrester will only help us to continue this momentum. Many organizations are still at the beginning of the journey to being a software driven business and we look forward to helping them complete this vision.”

Serverless Computing or Functions as a Service (FaaS) is gaining momentum. Amazon is fueling the innovation by expanding Lambda to edge devices and content distribution network. IBM, Microsoft, and Google have their own FaaS offerings in the public cloud. There are over half-a-dozen open source serverless projects that are getting the attention of developers.
As Apache Kafka has become increasingly ubiquitous in enterprise environments, it has become the defacto backbone of real-time data infrastructures. But as streaming clusters grow, integrating with various internal and external data sources has become increasingly challenging. Inspection, routing, aggregation, data capture, and management have all become time-consuming, expensive, poorly performing, or all of the above. Elements erases this burden by allowing customers to easily deploy fully man...
IT professionals are also embracing the reality of Serverless architectures, which are critical to developing and operating real-time applications and services. Serverless is particularly important as enterprises of all sizes develop and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives. Serverless and Kubernetes are great examples of continuous, rapid pace of change in enterprise IT. They also raise a number of critical issues and questions about employee training, development processes, and opera...
The widespread success of cloud computing is driving the DevOps revolution in enterprise IT. Now as never before, development teams must communicate and collaborate in a dynamic, 24/7/365 environment. There is no time to wait for long development cycles that produce software that is obsolete at launch. DevOps may be disruptive, but it is essential. DevOpsSUMMIT at CloudEXPO expands the DevOps community, enable a wide sharing of knowledge, and educate delegates and technology providers alike.
As you know, enterprise IT conversation over the past year have often centered upon the open-source Kubernetes container orchestration system. In fact, Kubernetes has emerged as the key technology -- and even primary platform -- of cloud migrations for a wide variety of organizations. Kubernetes is critical to forward-looking enterprises that continue to push their IT infrastructures toward maximum functionality, scalability, and flexibility.

Technology has changed tremendously in the last 20 years. From onion architectures to APIs to microservices to cloud and containers, the technology artifacts shipped by teams has changed. And that's not all - roles have changed too. Functional silos have been replaced by cross-functional teams, the skill sets people need to have has been redefined and the tools and approaches for how software is developed and delivered has transformed. When we move from highly defined rigid roles and systems to ...
The Kubernetes vision is to democratize the building of distributed systems. As adoption of Kubernetes increases, the project is growing in popularity; it currently has more than 1,500 contributors who have made 62,000+ commits. Kubernetes acts as a cloud orchestration layer, reducing barriers to cloud adoption and eliminating vendor lock-in for enterprises wanting to use cloud service providers. Organizations can develop and run applications on any public cloud, such as Amazon Web Services, Mic...
