Alabama Websites Continue to Receive International Praise

Two websites hosted by Alabama Interactive, Alabama.gov and OutdoorAlabama.com, were recognized again this quarter by an international award competition for excellence on the web. The W³ awards presented both websites with Silver awards in the government category. Just last month, the websites received awards from the WebAwards and Alabama.gov was recognized as a finalist by the Center for Digital Government.

Alabama Interactive places great importance on finding innovative ways to bring the government to citizens online in a user-friendly manner. Both websites recognized with awards do just that. Each consists of unique features that better serve not only Alabamians but also site visitors around the world. Some of the features specifically recognized by the award competitions include a centralized search and dynamic news galleries.

About the W³ Awards

The W³ Awards honors creative excellence on the Web and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning websites, Web video and online marketing programs. Simply put, the W³ is the first major Web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between. Small firms are as likely to win as Fortune 500 companies and international agencies.

The W³ Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. Complaints include unpredictable/escalating costs and mounting security concerns in the public cloud. Ultimately, public cloud adoption can ultimately mean a shift of IT pains instead of a resolution. That's why the move to hybrid, custom, and multi-cloud will ...

Using serverless computing has a number of obvious benefits over traditional application infrastructure - you pay only for what you use, scale up or down immediately to match supply with demand, and avoid operating any server infrastructure at all. However, implementing maintainable and scalable applications using serverless computing services like AWS Lambda poses a number of challenges. The absence of long-lived, user-managed servers means that states cannot be maintained by the service. Lo...

In my interactions with enterprises adopting container platform, I come across common questions: - How does application security work on this platform? What all do I need to secure? - How do I implement security in pipelines? - What about vulnerabilities discovered at a later point in time? - What are newer technologies like Istio Service Mesh bring to table? In this session, I will be addressing these commonly asked ...
