DENVER, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines today began non-stop service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT) in Wichita, Kan. The thrice daily service will initially be served by the 76-seat Embraer E-170. Upon Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) approval, Wichita will ultimately be served by Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. subsidiary Lynx Aviation, with its 74-seat Q400 aircraft. However, Lynx employees will provide customer service support in Wichita beginning with the launch of the new service today.

Wichita, which is located in south central Kansas and is the largest city in the state, is a progressive and diverse community of 360,000 people. Frontier also announced the winners of its non-profit ticket give-away during its inaugural press conference. To demonstrate its support and commitment to the Wichita community, Frontier will provide roundtrip tickets to Denver for 75 Wichita area non-profits, all of whom submitted a 500-word essay on which animal most closely resembled their organization. With 60 animals to choose from, the results of the top three were surprising to several of the stars of Frontier's famous television commercials.
