CHICAGO, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Business Insurance magazine is hosting a free webinar on November 14 at 11 a.m. Eastern titled Workers Compensation: Protecting People in the Age of Terrorism Risk.
Business Insurance Senior Editor Roberto Ceniceros, along with an expert panel, will discuss how the threat of terrorism has not abated since September 11, 2001, and concentrations of workers in office buildings present significant exposures for employers and insurers in the event of another attack. In fact, a catastrophic loss could easily result in workers comp losses in the billions of dollars.
"Business Insurance's Online Executive ForumTM webinars are highly informative events where noted speakers and respected business leaders come together with BI editors to discuss the latest trends and most pressing issues," said Regis Coccia, editor of Business Insurance magazine. "In the post 9-11 world, workers compensation insurance protection has taken on a new and more important role. This webinar will explain how employers can protect themselves and their employees in case another terrorist attack should occur," Mr. Coccia added.
Expert panelists participating in the webinar include: David R. Holmquist, Chief Operating Officer, Los Angeles Unified School District; Mark J. Noonan, Managing Director and Workers Compensation Practice Leader, Marsh Inc.; Richard L. Thomas, Senior Vice President, and Chief Underwriting Officer, Domestic Brokerage Group, American International Group Inc.
Some questions to be addressed in the webinar include:
-- What choices do employers have for protecting their workforces from
terrorist attacks?
-- Should employers avoid concentrations of workers in urban areas?
-- What coverage is available to respond to catastrophic workers comp
risk?
-- How should employers communicate risk mitigation plans to their
workers?
-- What role should government play in addressing catastrophic workers
comp risks?
