NEW YORK, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- ooVoo, an innovator in high-quality, face-to-face online video announced today a donation of 500 web cameras and microphones to the U.S. Air Force. The donation is aimed to help Air Force personnel stationed in the U.S. and abroad to have high-quality face-to-face communications with friends and family anywhere in the world.
The ooVoo communication packages include a web camera, earphone and microphone and ooVoo's award winning software - everything the Air Force personnel need to connect face-to-face with family and loved ones via their computers. Using ooVoo, members of the armed services can now say goodnight to their children, share stories as if they're in the same room together or even attend a family gathering using ooVoo.
"ooVoo helps family and friends to share in each others lives and stay in touch with one another - no matter where in the world they happen to be," said Philippe Schwartz, ooVoo's CEO. "We sincerely hope being able to talk and interact face-to-face will help our troops serving overseas connect and feel closer with their family and friends back home."
Using ooVoo, Air Force personnel are able to connect with up to five friends and family members on different computers, allowing them to see one another, talk and share emotions just as they would in person. In addition to the communications packages ooVoo is donating, Air Force personnel and their families need nothing more than a broadband Internet connection. Aside from video chat, ooVoo also allows military personnel and their families to send video messages to both ooVoo and non-ooVoo users, Instant Messages (IM), and share files that might include family pictures, home improvement plans or their children's artwork.
ooVoo is a free and easy to install application available for download at http://www.oovoo.com/.
