BURLINGTON, Mass., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Primavera Systems, the world's oldest and largest independent provider of project management and construction management software, has published a case study that demonstrates how Charleville Development Corporation, a Miami-based developer of high quality, high-end projects, used Vela Systems' mobile field software along with Primavera's software to accelerate delivery, improve quality and hold subcontractors accountable across all projects pursued by the company. The Primavera case study describes how Charleville used Vela on The Blue at Doral, a $56 million marquis condominium and hotel project that consists of 15 three-story buildings on a 17-acre site that overlooks the Blue Monster, a well-known course at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Doral, Florida. Because the Blue at Doral was the only on-course development at the resort, consumer demand for condos and owner expectations for quality were both very high.

As a result of using Vela Systems, Charleville has gained at least thirty days of time and knows exactly how much deficient work is on the site so that it does not pay subcontractors for work that is not up to its standards. Charleville also took advantage of Vela Systems' automatic integration into Primavera's construction management software. The cost of the solutions was paid for five times over in the first year by the benefits it garnered. Charleville had the integration up-and-running in less than one hour, with automatic data exchange on projects and contacts between Primavera Contract Manager and Vela's solution, resulting in the immediate transfer and availability of critical project information such as field reports and punch list items.
