Q & A With Christina Martin

An Inside Look at Writer and Media Maven Christina Martin's Work in Film & Music

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/24/07 -- Music industry veteran and on-air personality, Jen Meola, recently sat down with socialite, writer and media maven, Christina Martin:

Q: I want to ask you about some of the celebrities you've worked with. What was it like working with D.B. Sweeney? Thomas Ian Nicholas? Emilio Estevez? Shaun Toub? Crispin Glover?

A: Every artist is different. One thing I find in common is that I learn a lot from each of them. D.B. was especially wonderful to work with and he has a fantastic film on the festival circuit, "Two Tickets To Paradise," which he produced, directed and stars with John C. McGinley.

Q: What made you get involved in Clinton's Presidential campaign?

A: For many reasons, I consider Senator Clinton to be the best person for the job. At the same time, I also think that being a leader for democracy around the world, the United States is long overdue to elect our first female president to office.

Q: What 5 media sources could you not live without?

A: The Daily Show, Bill Maher, The Economist, Forbes and Variety.

Q: Tell me about "The Passenger."

A: "The Passenger" is a television series in development. Based on my work with rock bands, the concept arose when Lance Bass's production company caught wind of what I was doing with rock radio. The idea for the show is Spinal Tap meets Almost Famous meets Road Rules in a fast-paced modern docudrama of today's hottest touring rock bands.

Q: What rock bands are you good friends with or have you worked with recently?

A: Wolfmother, Three Days Grace, The Killers, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin, Evan's Blue, Seether, Mink, Marty Casey Lovehammers, The Exies, Bullet for My Vallentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy, Rooney, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Point One, Puddle of Mudd, Hatebreed, Static X, Behemoth, and a lot of others I'm probably forgetting.

Q: Tell me about your writing.

A: I write all the time. Most notably, I've written a couple of screenplays as well as numerous articles (for magazines). I used to be Managing Editor of Ego magazine, where I got to interview celebs and friends like Andy Garcia, Kelli Garner, Rachel Blanchard, David Sutcliffe and Steven Bauer.

Q: Isn't your screenplay "15 Days To Fall" a true story?

A: Yea, it's based on Jude and Jonathan and I. It's getting a lot of attention and buzz because of that, but the story stands on its own. It's sweet with very funny moments and a unique kind of romance.

Q: How did you get to where you are today?

A: That's an interesting question because, after all, how do any of us get to where we are? One thing leads to another; and there's a bit of serendipity in everything you do. As far as my career goes, I guess I've just been smart enough to follow my passions and dumb enough to work hard.

Q: How did you start your company?

A: I was living in London. My friend, Gerry Butler, was filming "Phantom" at Pinewood Studios, where my business partner, Malcolm Cockren, mentored me and we co-founded Equity Strategic Relations.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A: Oddly enough, I miss the investment world. I used to market institutional investment products throughout North America and Europe. I got started young and took a break from it to focus on film and music, but now some really interesting things are happening in alternative assets, and I hope to transition back in 2008.

Otherwise, apps in production are not easily monitored, have issues that are difficult to detect, and cannot be corrected quickly. Tom Chavez presents the four steps that quality engineers should include in every test plan for apps that produce log output or other machine data. Learn the ste...
