Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

Pinnacle Systems Selects Mobilygen for Pinnacle Video Transfer
Mobilygen Codec Enables Highest Video Quality and Compatibility with iPod, PSP, and USB 2.0 Devices without using a PC

By: PR Newswire
Jan. 4, 2008 04:11 PM

LAS VEGAS, CES, Hilton Suite 28132, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobilygen Inc., a leading provider of low-power H.264 video compression and decompression semiconductor solutions, announced today that Pinnacle Systems, Inc., a leader in video editing and media adapters, has selected Mobilygen's MG1264 H.264 SD codec chip for the Pinnacle(TM) Video Transfer product that is set to debut at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Pinnacle Video Transfer device records analog video onto any USB 2.0 storage device without using a PC. At the touch of a button, users with little or no technical expertise can immediately begin recording from a TV, DVD player, PVR, camcorder or set-top box directly to their iPod(R) Video, PSP(TM), USB flash drive or USB hard drive.

Offering anytime, anywhere entertainment convenience, Pinnacle Video Transfer is ideal for people who want to enjoy their personal collection of TV shows and videos on their Apple iPod Video or a Sony PSP. With PC-less recording, the compact device will also appeal to people who want a simple way to offload footage from their camera to a portable USB device when away from home. For consumers with personal videos on VHS, Hi8 or VHS-C tape, Pinnacle Video Transfer can be used to make a digital copy onto a USB 2.0 hard drive for safe keeping -- without having to deal with complicated PC-based software. Pinnacle Video Transfer was announced January 3rd with an MSRP of $129.99.

"We chose Mobilygen's MG1264 for Pinnacle Video Transfer because of its high-quality H.264 full D1 video encoding enabling over twice the storage capacity of MPEG2 solutions," said Jan Piros, Pinnacle Systems director of product management, video editing. "The ease of integrating the MG1264 codec solution allowed us to deliver a great product to our customers quickly."

"Computer-free video sharing and storing is a great convenience, for many consumers," says Christopher Peters, Mobilygen vice president of sales and business development. "We're pleased the MG1264 is part of this exciting new product. The MG1264 provides superior hardware-based H.264/AVC encoding and offers the highest video quality at very attractive prices."

Mobilygen's MG1264 Codec is based on the patented en-ViE (Enabling Video Everywhere) architecture, which offers outstanding video quality while minimizing power consumption. The MG1264 is capable of encoding and decoding full resolution H.264 video simultaneously with 2-channel AAC audio while requiring only 185mW of total chip power.
