LOS GATOS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/07/08 -- Transitive® Corporation, the leading
provider of cross-platform virtualization solutions, today announced that
it has appointed Criss Harms to serve as its chief financial officer.
Harms, a broadly experienced executive with more than 20 years spent in key
finance and administration roles for several notable high-technology firms,
will be responsible for financial and administrative management at
Transitive, which sells the award-winning QuickTransit® range of
enterprise cross-platform virtualization solutions.
"Criss Harms joins the Transitive team at a critical time, just as our
QuickTransit enterprise product line sales are ramping up," said Bob
Wiederhold, president and CEO of Transitive. "With the recent appointment
of three new global distributors, Transitive's sales channels will grow
several orders of magnitude during 2008, requiring considerable scaling and
refinement of our financial, administrative and legal processes. We look
forward to having Criss Harms join with the Transitive team in rising to
this challenge."
"Joining the Transitive team as CFO at this point in time is a unique and
exciting opportunity," said Criss Harms. "With innovative technology that
has been shipped in more than 10 million computers worldwide, Transitive
has elevated cross-platform virtualization to become a mainstream business
solution. My challenge, along with Transitive's management and employees,
is to build a world-class organization to effectively partner with and
support our rapidly scaling enterprise customer base."
Prior to joining Transitive, Harms was CFO at Counterpane, which was
acquired by British Telecom in 2006. Prior to that, he served as the
director of finance and controller for several successful venture-funded
technology companies, including Sentient Networks (acquired by Cisco
Systems), Apptitude (acquired by Hi/fn) and Silvan Networks. Harms also
founded Branders.com, a Web-based provider of promotional products, and
served in corporate and divisional financial roles at Hewlett Packard.
Harms earned his CPA while at Ernst & Young in San Francisco, and he holds
an MBA from Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a BS from UC
Berkeley.
About Transitive Corporation
Transitive is a leader in cross-platform virtualization, and its
award-winning QuickTransit technology is built into more than 10 million
computers worldwide. QuickTransit allows software applications that have
been compiled for one processor/operating system to run on a system with a
different processor/operating system, without any source code or binary
changes and at speeds comparable to native ports. As a result, QuickTransit
allows data center managers to transport legacy enterprise applications
quickly and easily from outdated, proprietary hardware to modern,
standardized platforms without incurring the costs and delays of porting
projects, and with no disruption to end users.
QuickTransit also facilitates computer companies' migration to new hardware
platforms; dramatically reduces software developers' cost, risk, and
time-to-market in supporting multiple hardware platforms; and makes
significantly more software available for more hardware platforms.
QuickTransit technology is the basis of the Rosetta translation software
built into all of Apple's x86-based Macintosh computers, and it also forms
the basis of IBM System p AVE for IBM's System p range of enterprise
servers.
Transitive Corporation is located in Los Gatos, California with a research
and development team in Manchester, UK. More information can be found at
