Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

Hillary Clinton is the Odds-On Betting Favorite at 1-1 (Even Money) to Win the White House, but Rudy Giuliani is the Smart Bet at 8-1, According to Sports Gambling And Handicapping Expert Steve Budin of SportsInfo.Com

MIAMI, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- After her dramatic come-from-behind win in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton is again the odds-on betting favorite -- at 1-1 -- to become the next president of the United States, but the betting value is clearly on Rudy Giuliani (8-1) to win the White House, according to Steve Budin of SportsInfo.com, the world's largest online sports pay-per-view analysis conglomerate.

Barack Obama has dropped to 2-1 after his loss in New Hampshire while John McCain, who won in New Hampshire, is listed at 7-2, followed by Mike Huckabee (8-1), Mitt Romney (10-1), John Edwards (15-1), Ron Paul (20-1) and Fred Thompson (40-1), said Budin.

"Hillary Clinton has regained her front-runner status after her huge win in New Hampshire -- and the betting odds reflect that," said Budin. "She had dropped to 3-2 odds after Iowa but she's back to 1-1 (even money). However, Rudy Giuliani has the best betting value now -- he will jump to 2-1 if he wins Florida, so grab the 8-1 now while you can."

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Vice President Al Gore, both of whom have said they have no plans to enter the presidential race, are listed at 10-1 odds and 5-1 odds, respectively. Meanwhile, Dennis Kucinich has the longest odds at 250-1.

Americans have been betting on the outcome of presidential elections since 1914. Historically, the game-time favorite has won every election except one -- Bush/Kerry in 2004. Budin credits that loss to the advent of the Internet.

"With the Internet we saw the birth of the $5 bettor who tends to be a Democrat," he said. "In previous years betting on elections was dominated by the rich, and you know what party the rich tend to be, unless you are John Edwards of course. The Democrats came out in droves to bet Kerry online, but unfortunately they never showed up at the polls to back up that $5 bet."

Below are the current betting odds for each of the 2008 presidential candidates, according to Steve Budin of sportsinfo.com
