Manning Brothers Take On 'Second Sport' With a Twist, Lick and Dunk

Football Greats Peyton Manning and Eli Manning Team Up ith Oreo(R) Double Stuf(TM) to Launch the 'League of the Future'

EAST HANOVER, N.J., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- It may be the height of football season, but America's "First Family of Football," is being drawn to a "second sport." Famous quarterback brothers Peyton Manning and Eli Manning have announced they are now becoming "two sport" athletes by being the first members of the Double Stuf Racing League (DSRL). They have the support of their parents, legendary football star and quarterback great himself, Archie Manning, and proud mother, Olivia.

The DSRL connects family and friends through Oreo Lick Racing, a fun and friendly competition -- and you don't even need to be a professional athlete to participate. All you need is a single Oreo Double Stuf cookie, a glass of milk and a friend or family member to race against. As part of this inaugural season, the Mannings are inviting consumers to try and out-lick them by teaming up with Oreo for a nationwide instant win promotion, in which 10 lucky families will win a trip this July for a chance to compete in a DSRL match against these "pros." The event will take place on the Mannings' true home turf -- in New Orleans -- and the winner will receive the $10,000 grand prize.

"My brother and I have always enjoyed friendly competition both on and off the field," said Peyton. "We also have fond memories of enjoying Oreo cookies and milk together as a family going back to our childhood days, so the DSRL is a natural 'second sport' for us."

"And we've been practicing our technique over the years to try to become the best lick racers we can be. We encourage America to get in on the fun as well, and enter for a chance to try to compete against us this summer," added Eli.

Getting In On the Action

The DSRL is a fun activity that anyone can enjoy. The only real "equipment" needed is an Oreo Double Stuf cookie, a glass of milk and someone to compete against. To start the race, each person twists their cookie open and licks off all the creme. Then, each person shows their cookie to their opponent, dunks it, eats it and drinks the glass of milk. The first to finish wins!

Of course, there are some tips and techniques to help you succeed. The Mannings share theirs on http://www.dsrl.com/ where visitors can also:

The DSRL interactive marketing program is a first of its kind for the Oreo brand. It includes a robust Web site (http://www.dsrl.com/) and a major advertising campaign, created by Draftfcb New York featuring the entire Manning family, with parents Archie and Olivia supporting their sons' decision to become "two sport" athletes. Activities kicked off in December 2007 with a series of "teaser ads" and an unbranded "teaser" Web site (http://www.whatsthesecondsport.com/). The big reveal of the Mannings' "second sport" as the DSRL launched online Jan. 9 and in TV ads during Peyton's playoff game on Sunday, Jan. 13.

In addition to the Mannings, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Greg Biffle, who helped pioneer the Double Stuf Race in 2007, also joins the league as a founding member.

A Timeless Tradition

With its "twisting, licking and dunking" ritual, "Oreo and Milk" is a classic combination that has brought families and friends together for more than 95 years. For more information on the Oreo Double Stuf Racing League or to see the official sweepstakes rules, visit http://www.dsrl.com/.

In an age of borderless networks, security for the cloud and security for the corporate network can no longer be separated. Security teams are now presented with the challenge of monitoring and controlling access to these cloud environments, at the same time that developers quickly spin up new cloud instances and executives push forwards new initiatives. The vulnerabilities created by migration to the cloud, such as misconfigurations and compromised credentials, require that security teams t...

The use of containers by developers -- and now increasingly IT operators -- has grown from infatuation to deep and abiding love. But as with any long-term affair, the honeymoon soon leads to needing to live well together ... and maybe even getting some relationship help along the way. And so it goes with container orchestration and automation solutions, which are rapidly emerging as the means to maintain the bliss between rapid container adoption and broad container use among multiple cloud host...
Today we can collect lots and lots of performance data. We build beautiful dashboards and even have fancy query languages to access and transform the data. Still performance data is a secret language only a couple of people understand. The more business becomes digital the more stakeholders are interested in this data including how it relates to business. Some of these people have never used a monitoring tool before. They have a question on their mind like "How is my application doing" but no id...
