Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud.
We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

(Feb 25, 2004) -- SYS-CON Media (www.sys-con.com), the world's leading i-technology magazine publisher, today announced its latest highly anticipated new title, ISSJ -- Information Storage & Security Journal (www.issjournal.com), at the Edge 2004 East Conference & Expo (www.sys-con.com/edge2004) in Boston's Hynes Convention Center.
Information Storage & Security Journal will launch on May 11, at the Networld+Interop Conference & Expo (www.interop.com/lasvegas2004/) in Las Vegas. This year's N+I conference and expo, which is produced and presented by MediaLive International, focuses on six themes, two of which are Data Center and Storage, and Security.
Targeted at corporate IT professionals, i-technology managers and decision makers, ISSJ will be the first and only storage and security magazine on newsstands and in specialty bookstores such as Barnes & Noble and Borders.
"There are some smaller circulation magazine titles in the market today that cover either the data center and storage-related issues or security-related subjects," said Fuat Kircaali, founder & CEO of SYS-CON Media. "However, the industry is missing one great i-technology magazine that focuses on both storage and security at the same time, two inseparable subjects, one cannot exist without the other."
"ISS Journal is aimed at information security professionals, CIOs, network administrators, MIS managers and i-technology decision-makers," said Jeremy Geelan, group publisher of SYS-CON Media. "Working at Fortune 2000 corporations that deploy or develop storage products, they will seek to analyze and address the major infosecurity issues of the day, from identity theft, cyber-terrorism, and network forensics, to perimeter defense, secure Web services, and encryption. This infosecurity content will be complemented with the information about storage that i-technology professionals need today, from SAN and NAS essentials to issues such as using iSCSI for backup and recovery."
The editorial direction of ISSJ will be shaped by an editorial advisory board comprising front-line executives whose companies are solving security and storage issues on a daily basis.
More information about ISSJ can be found in the March and April issues of SYS-CON's 12 leading i-technology magazines.
