SAP today continues to strengthen a global business unit responsible for an ongoing market development among small businesses and midsize companies by appointing Patricia R. Hume as senior vice president, SAP Indirect Channel Organization, and Morag Lucey as executive vice president, Global Small and Midsize Enterprise (SME) Marketing.
With the appointments of Hume and Lucey, SAP continues to strengthen a global business unit responsible for an ongoing market development among small businesses and midsize companies. The company currently has more than 30,000 small and midsize customers, signifying more than 70 percent of its total customer base and more than $1.4 billion (EUR 1 billion) in yearly software orders.
With nearly 30 years of regional and international IT industry experience, primarily focused on channel partners and the SME segment, industry veteran Patricia Hume is based in Boston and reports to Eric Duffaut, executive vice president, Global SME Sales and Channels.
Hume was most recently with Avaya Inc. as global vice president for SME and acting vice president of EMEA channels. Prior to Avaya, she was senior vice president of worldwide partners/channels and general manager of Asia Pacific/Japan at Critical Path Inc., a leading global provider of specialized telecommunications solutions. Hume has held leadership positions in partner sales and marketing at Lotus Development Corporation, EMC Corporation and within IBM's Software Group Division. She also was president and CEO of VerticalNet Markets.
Morag Lucey will assume the newly created role of executive vice president of Global SME Marketing and will in this position bring even greater focus on driving continued expansion of the complete portfolio of SAP solutions for small businesses and midsize companies. Lucey, who has more than 20 years of marketing experience focused on the SME segment, will be based in New York and report directly to Marty Homlish, global chief marketing officer and corporate officer of SAP AG, as well as Hans-Peter Klaey, president, SME and corporate officer of SAP AG.
Lucey joins SAP from Avaya, where she held leadership positions including vice president, Global Marketing and Channel Management for Small and Medium Business Solutions, and vice president, EMEA Marketing. In these roles, Lucey shaped channel strategy and the development of a robust partner community. Prior to her tenure with Avaya, Lucey held marketing leadership positions with Nortel, Clarify and Microsoft.
