Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

SocialMedia Networks Inc. Taps Yahoo! Behavioral Targeting Veteran
Names Richard Frankel as Chief Operating Officer to scale its advertising network for open social platforms

By: PR Newswire
Jan. 24, 2008 04:54 PM

PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- SocialMedia Networks, the largest network delivering advertising services in social media applications, today announced it has appointed Yahoo! behavioral targeting expert Richard Frankel as chief operating officer. In his new role, Frankel will be responsible for driving the overall growth and development of SocialMedia Networks.

A veteran of the online advertising industry, Frankel's experience encompasses senior positions with such companies as NetGravity, DoubleClick, and most recently, Yahoo!. As Senior Director of Product Marketing, Frankel managed Yahoo!'s ad targeting products worldwide, growing targeted media into a major revenue line for the company. He was the mastermind behind Yahoo's innovative behavioral targeting business -- the foundation for delivering effective graphical media to marketers and relevant ads to consumers.

Before Yahoo!, Frankel held several key positions at DoubleClick, including vice president of the worldwide publisher business, where he successfully steered the organization amid tumultuous change during the Internet boom and bust cycle. He also led the ad server business unit, and served as director of product marketing and customer service.

"We are incredibly fortunate to have Rich join our team as COO," said Seth Goldstein, CEO and co-founder of SocialMedia Networks. "He brings a career of internet advertising experience, and valuable insights as to how to best optimize advertising networks through enhanced targeting. I look forward to working with him as we grow SocialMedia Networks to the next level."

"Over the years I've worked with both advertisers and publishers, and am eager to bring that experience to SocialMedia Networks," said Richard Frankel. "Consumers have an explosive new interest in social content and applications, generating unprecedented depth of attention and focus. In this medium SocialMedia Networks has a unique opportunity to create a new consumer engagement paradigm for advertisers."

Frankel's online advertising experience dates back to the earliest days of the Internet, when he worked with new Web publishers and businesses. This early excitement still fuels his passionate belief in the power of the Internet to enable rich, enduring connections within communities, as well as between businesses and consumers.

SocialMedia Networks provides a comprehensive suite of tools and services for developers building applications that run on open social platforms, including Facebook and MySpace. By fusing social analytics, monetization, and promotion into one platform, SocialMedia Networks is ushering in a new era for ad networks. More than 2,000 social applications now take advantage of SocialMedia Networks' services, and advertisers use the proprietary self-serve marketplace to start and manage their campaigns around the clock and around the world.
