We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Intense School, a leading Information Technology Certification and Security Training company, announced today that it will be presenting its Live Online Professional Hacking class for four days (February 14-18) from the RSA Conference USA 2005 in San Francisco's Moscone Center. Leading the class will be world-renowned trainer and ethical hacker Ralph Echemendia, who has appeared on CNN and Animal Planet, as well as in the pages of USA Today and Forbes magazine.
During the conference, Intense School will be driving through the streets of San Francisco in its "Intensemobile" to spread the word about computer security and distribute "Good Guy Hacker" paraphernalia and merchandise.
Ralph Echemendia will be attending the conference, as well as conducting his Live Online class directly from the conference. Students will be able to view a live video feed over the Internet from any location, starting at 6:00 PM Eastern Time and participate in the class using (full-duplex) two-way voice over IP technology.
Echemendia describes himself as a security professional and ethical hacker whose experience began at the age of 14 with ham radio, phone phreaking and bulletin board systems. His interest in technology eventually led to jobs in the computer industry. For over 10 years, he has conducted security audits and penetration tests, and consulted for numerous organizations, including the United Nations, Oracle, and various hospitals and financial institutions.
"With our Live Online Professional Hacking class, students will be able to see for themselves how to think and use the tools of a hacker," said Echemendia. "The class teaches you how to think offensively rather than defensively, hack yourself before somebody else penetrates your infrastructure, that way you can fully understand where your vulnerabilities lie before a malicious attacker takes advantage of the security holes in your systems."
The class normally has between 15 to 20 students, and Echemendia is able to give students individual attention by connecting directly to their machines and helping them through problems.
The Live Online Professional Hacking class is designed to teach students the important skills of security testing through intensive instruction and review by an experienced ethical hacking instructor. Live Online Professional Hacking thoroughly prepares students for security challenges by leading students through numerous hands-on exercises using today's tools and intelligence.
Upon the completion of the Live Online Professional Hacking course, students will know how to:
-- Perform security testing procedures across a wide range of systems
-- Use various methodologies to analyze and report on data from
penetration tests
-- Implement countermeasures to secure real systems against real attacks
-- Recognize how hackers attack and exploit systems using the skills of a
professional hacker
-- Expose system vulnerabilities before the bad guys do
-- Oversee and govern risks to information, from outside the network and
from within
