LONDON and ATLANTA, April 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manhattan Associates(R), Inc. , the global leader in providing supply chain execution and optimisation solutions, has appointed Steve Smith to the post of vice president, EMEA, overseeing company operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will report to Jeff Baum, Manhattan Associates' senior vice president, International. The appointment follows Manhattan Associates' seventh straight year of growth in both revenue and employee numbers in the region and positions the company to further grow in the region in the future.

Since joining Manhattan Associates in 2004 as vice president of Performance Services, Mr. Smith has worked closely with customers across EMEA to ensure that they are maximising the return on their investment in Manhattan Associates' solutions. In his new role, based out of Bracknell in the UK, he will continue to work with customers and will also be responsible for overseeing the company's future growth throughout the region.

Mr. Smith has acquired a wealth of business management and leadership experience and has gained specialised knowledge in a whole range of supply chain disciplines including labour management and customer service improvement. He has more than 20 years of supply chain experience within leading worldwide organisations, spanning sectors including retail, wholesale and manufacturing as well as government, logistics services and home shopping. Before joining Manhattan Associates, he held a number of positions at SSA Global Technologies (formerly EXE Technologies). This included the position of general manager, EMEA, where he had full 'profit and loss' responsibility and accountability for the creation and growth of the SSA Global Technologies supply chain solutions business across the EMEA region. Mr. Smith has completed numerous strategic consulting assignments with various multi- national organisations around the world and has held senior positions at material handling equipment specialist Dexion Limited.
