Plone and Drupal: Different Approaches, Different Results
paul.nowak wrote: Matt, thanks for the comments. I made an error on the version of Plone. It's 2.5 Plone running on Zope 2.9x. In regards to the additional products, we have a skin installed and we have a product that we had custom developed for us that connects to a PostgreSQL database. We've looked at slow PostgreSQL queries causing problems and have not been able to find an issue. We've also tested for the case where the PostgreSQL server is down and have not been able to create an issue. We therefor...

Mumboe Helps Growing Businesses Secure and Manage Sensitive Legal Documents
Web-Based Tools Make Document Collaboration Simple and Affordable

By: Business Wire
Mar. 17, 2008 12:00 PM

Mumboe™ today announced the launch of its new document collaboration solution designed to help growing businesses secure, track and manage their contractual agreements. Delivered over the web as an on-demand or software as a service (SaaS) application, Mumboe is targeted at corporate consumers– including small and growing businesses, as well as enterprise departments and workgroups – that need secure, centralized access to sensitive business documents at an affordable price. Starting today, interested customers can sign up for a free Mumboe account at www.mumboe.com and begin using the product immediately, then upgrade as their business needs grow for a low monthly fee.

Many businesses lack the sophisticated document management systems large enterprises employ to manage agreements with customers, partners and employees. Some store hard copies of agreements in filing cabinets or on desktops. Others use a combination of spreadsheets and email to manage agreement details. As organizations grow, this approach makes it difficult to securely share sensitive information, control document changes and revisions, and track important information such as expiration and renewal dates, agreement terms and other commitments.

“We needed a better way to manage the entire process of creating and executing a business contract,” says Steven Vine, Deputy General Counsel at Register.com and a Mumboe beta customer. “Mumboe offered an impressive set of document collaboration features in a simple, affordable solution we could begin using right away.”

Web-based Collaboration and Security Features

Using Mumboe, customers can upload agreements and supporting documentation into a secure online repository, share them with authorized users, track important information such as renewal dates, and quickly search for specific agreements. The product uses 256-bit encryption, password protection and offsite backup to keep customer data secure.

Key features designed to help users easily organize and share business agreements include:

  • Secure, central repository where users can upload, store and access agreements;
  • Agreement templates and authoring toolsto facilitate the process of creating agreements;
  • Permission-based roles and security to give managers control over who can access and edit specific agreements;
  • Collaboration and productivity tools that let users set reminders and assign tasks;
  • Advanced search capabilities so users can quickly find specific agreements.

“Mumboe is part of a new generation of web applications being brought to market by innovative companies such as Salesforce.com, 37 Signals and others that are challenging the notion that business software has to be complex and expensive,” says William Kane, Mumboe’s chief executive officer. “These applications offer the practical functionality businesses need, without the high cost and complexity of their enterprise counterparts.”

In 2008, Mumboe plans to roll out additional functionality including the ability to automatically extract common fields such as effective dates, term duration and responsible parties from agreement documents and display them in the system. Other planned enhancements include further integration with Microsoft Outlook and integration with Salesforce.com.

Availability and Pricing

Starting today, Mumboe is available in four tiers designed to fit the needs of different-sized organizations, including:

  • Mumboe Express: includes storage for up to 10 agreements or 50 MB, and shared access for up to three users. Price: free with a valid email address.
  • Mumboe Standard: includes storage for up to 250 agreements or 500 MB, and unlimited users. Price: $24/User/Month.
  • Mumboe Pro: includes storage for up to 1,000 agreements or 2 GB, and unlimited users. Price: $48/User/Month.
